Hello Guys and Gals, Thought I'd better get over here and get the new BIAB for MAC before the sale is over and thought I'd post up a freshly recorded tune. This one's a Charlie Jordon tune from around 1930 and I hope you like it. I hope everyone is doing well as I have been away from recording for a while. Still working on the picking and hope to maybe do some more recording. Had to move and change things in my little set up and had to have my interface repaired. MOTU did it at no charge which I really appreciated. Maybe the Mac 2010 will get me inspired to do some multitracks, who knows. But this one is a guitar and vocal, I hope you like it and I hope to hear from you all. Just Keep it clean. Song page: http://soundclick.com/share?songid=9052978

Awesome!!! Front row!!
sorry that was an in-joke for fellow users of SingSnap, which will be totally meaningless to the rest of you.
Impressive guitar playing here, Pete. Particularly I don't know how you manage to get the 4/4 time pattern back after that little guitar phrase at the end of each chorus. Loses me every time.
In the vox, not sure about the exaggerated accent on some of the phrases.

The very first song of this genre I learned to play and sing long ago, still one of my favorites.
The history of this one is good to know also.
It may lay claim to being the first ever Public Service Announcement, in a way.
Pete, keep that backbeat happening to the fore, it should snap a wee bit more on this 'un.
This one is a scream with Sebastopol tuning.
Keep on Bloozin' it up, Pete!

Pete,
That may be my favorite of yours to date. The guitar was top shelf and the vocal equally as good, a fine production and performance all around.
Later,

Thanks Marc,
I don't know where that turn around came from and I know it doesn't exactly make sense but it puts me back to the beginning. I'm borrowing the accent from the original a bit . To me, it seems to help give the vocal a rhythm and a flavor that I like? And shorter crisper syllables than my natural midwestern drawl.

From one picker to another - thank you, Bob. I had fun doing it --- that is after all the frustration of learning how.

Hi Mac, Good to hear from you and I hope things are going well. A PSA ? Hunh, now I feel like I've done my civic duty as well as 'diss yo' mama! As to the groove, guess I'm doing more of a Travis pick rhythm than the original Charlie Jordon groove, which was called "inexact timing (that's exact)." There's always something to aspire to, and it's getting better all the time. Sebastopol, eh?

Hello Danny,
Guess I'll put a big ole' check mark on this one as Danny's Fav. No doubt then, it's going on my next (very limited run) CD. Hope the world is treating you well. Always good to hear from you.

Pete, this is awesome!
Super vocal and outstanding picking! I envy people who can finger pick like this.

Hi Mario, Thanks for being such a good friend and supporting my efforts. As to the picking , it's like teaching a baby to walk, one step at a time, and before you know it they're running all over the place on their own.

Hi Pete,
I liked the guitar work. Very tasteful. You kept a nice and consistent tempo through. The vocal reminds me of the humor (tongue in cheek) of Nilsson's "Lime in the Coconut."
I particularly like that you kept your picking style consistent so as you came around again, you were hitting the same notes the same time you did previously. I always wished I could do that. I am the type that needs to keep the tape rolling all the time because once it is off my fingers good luck trying to get it back!
Oh yeah! I liked that scene in the Christmas story where the kid gets soap in his mouth. It's almost as funny as when his friend got his tongue frozen stuck to a pole.
Cheers! RickeG

Thanks to Jim, George, Mike (who has been befriended) and to Ricke - good luck with the picking. It truly means a lot to me to hear from you and to be able to share my passion for music with you.
