I like Roland stuff. The SD-50 also is an audio interface, which adds another dimension. Also the USB connection reads memory sticks (thumb drives) for wav, mp3 and MID files, which I think is pretty cool.
That said, there is a difference in the sound engine for MIDI. I like Roland sounds and find them very usable, but the SD2 does have different sounds.
Please let us know how you llike it. And how well it plays with PGMusic products.
