Hog,

You can right click on the other instruments you don't want and mute them.

Or Right Click on the style and make it inactive by clicking the "enable Style". Then you'll hear only what you enter

Hello,

FYI ... You may be interested to know that there a software solution to typing hard-copy sheet music into BIAB.

Hi All,

I'm a very newbee so please excuse my ignorance! Spotted this topic and just wondered...are you saying that if I've got sheet music with say guitar, bass & drums on it I can "type" it into BIAB somehow and it will play it?

Would be grateful if you would confirm if this is correct and if so point me in the general direction (tutorial?). Have only had BIAB a few days and have spent most of the time sorting out teething/finger trouble(!) problems so have yet to read/view all help/tuition!! Thanks,

Regards,

Dave

Jed,

You've got two tracks in BIAB that you can enter notes on - the melody track and the soloist track. Look in help for "editable notation mode". That should get you pointed in the right direction.

Jed/Dave, as Bruce said, you have two tracks to work with. The reason for this is that the other tracks are regenerated each time you load a song or press Play. If you have version 2011, or at least 2010.5 I think, you can enter notation on any of the other tracks and Freeze the track so it does not get regenerated.

You mentioned guitar and bass - no problem. Drums, however, could be a challenge. How are your drums notated on your sheet music? BIAB does not use standard drum notation; it uses a piano-style notation like all the other instruments, where each pitch is a particular MIDI drum kit sound.

Take a demo song, press Play, then look at the notation in the drum part (click on the little D) to see how this works.
