Greetings all,

I'm a new user of BIAB, and new to midi in general, though I did have a brief encounter with it many years ago when Cakewalk was a DOS program and the music from ice cream trucks was far superior to what my computer or keyboard could output.

My main instrument of choice is acoustic guitar and I'm looking forward to learning how to create some backing tracks for some recording I'm doing in Reaper. Also have Reason and a couple of controllers, perhaps one day BIAB will support ReWire.... In the meantime I can work with the midi files back and forth so I've got a lot of learning, and playing to do.

There are some pretty friendly and helpful folks here, thank you all in advance.

Anyway just wanted to introduce myself.

Kind Regards,
Fleet

I've seen at least one video showing the drag and drop, which will be quite useful in dragging a track to Reaper (my DAW) and from there, if I drag midi, I can route it through my soft synth (Reaper). By doing so I should be able to take advantage of the soft synth sound banks. I've not seen a way yet to cut out Reaper and go straight from BiaB to Reason.

Kind Regards,
fleet

Hi Fleet,

You can't drag n drop into Reason, but if your tracks are MIDI, you can export your tune as a MIDI file and open the MIDI file in Reason. The tracks won't have instruments assigned automatically of course, so you'll still have some setting up to do, but I've done this myself, no problems.

Thanks for the reply Kent. Yes, I've done that with some midi files found on the net so I figure I can do it as you mentioned. So much to learn, wish I started this a few years ago
