Hi RustySpoon,

Yes I owe you one - thanks for your advice.

I tried other drivers and MME did not work but WAS did - YES!

So is there any downside from changing from ASIO to WAS drivers with my Focusrite Scarlett audio module?

I notice an error message when saving Driver settings in BIAB saying:
"Windows Audio Session error Input and Output Sample rates must match....."

Is this a problem?

Thanks again

Best Regards
Nigel

Ok almost there.

Type "Sound settings" in Windows search. Open these settings. Follow attached images to navigate to that advanced window. These numbers have to match with BIAB settings. Post back.

A bit more. If you want to try. Interfaces are different...
On same "advanced" tab above, I have both checkmarks set on exclusive controls (see attached) You can try checking both and see if you can get BIAB to work with ASIO. Mine works fine (with ASIO in BIAB)

P.S. In my view, if you are not dealing with "live" recording, WASapi mode is absolutely fine.

Nigel.

tell moi if following works.
1..go into your win audio settings advanced and set to 24 bit 44100 hz.
(also ensure exclusive mode is unchecked.)
2..do same for frite user control panel. 24 bit//44.1
3..in bb select WAS and ensure you choose the correct frite in/out drivers as per win audio devices which should show checked the frite drivers for recording//playback. NOT ANOTHER SOUND DEVICE.
BIG NOTE >> IF you have frite GENERATION 3 CHECK IF YOU HAVE FRITE MULTI CLIENT DRIVERS. IF you DO this means you can run multiple music production apps all using asio at the same time.

nigel why people get probs is the settings in either win and/or the music production apps they use and/or their usb audio interface user control panel are not set correctly.
when ive diagnosed friends rigs and come across mme drivers its a clue often that some setting is incorrect…either in win or the music app or the user control panel of the sound device.
it all comes down to selection of the right sound device , and the right settings.
in summary many people havent set up their rigs settings correctly often for music production ive found.

NOW IF THE ABOVE DONT WORK…please post back pics of…
1..your win audio record/playback settings including advanced.
2..bb driver settings and driver selection.
3..your frite user control panel settings.

its VITAL to provide the above pics to save guesswork, and also will provide a full and complete snapshot of your settings so the rest of us plus pg support can
help further. ps some puny thanks might be nice if above works !

NOTE ..heres a list of multi client asio usb devices.

pps RUSTY I HAVE exclusive UNCHECKED HERE.
so its best to test exclusive checked and exclusive unchecked...as we are all different rigs.

have a merry

om
