I go through the same problem every 6 months when I buy the latest releases and I can't believe it never gets fixed. The online store never remembers my password or won't send me a password if I don't happen to remember it. I can't even tell if there is a problem because there are no messages to tell me if what I entered is correct or not and if an email with my password was sent. I hate to constantly re-enter all my data.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but that may be a 2 ended problem. You need certain settings on your end to identify you, so they can verify it on the other end. I'd look into that too. Having the browser remember you passwords is often your function, that is between you and your security settings.

Most vendors just pretend it's all theirs in the interest of customer relations.

I may be wrong.

Hi Dave,

I'm in Australia and don't have a problem with PGMusic remembering my password and details. It might be that the problem lies elsewhere.

Hi Dave in China,

Your problem could be due to high security settings in your browser. For example, most "remember me" routines, if not all, rely on the ability to leave a Cookie or two on your machine. If you have that blocked then it can't work. If you switch computers between purchase times, that can't work either.

You may also elect to keep security settings high but tell your browser that pgmusic.com is a "trusted site".

Ultimate security, of course, lies in memorizing your login and password and typing it in manually every time. Still, not system is absolutely 100% safe, but pgmusic is a "trusted site" if ever there was one.

Thanks for the responses guys but it is not my username and password entry that is the problem. I know my username is correct and Firefox enters it in automatically. The password is even entered automatically but when I try to progress from "Log In to an Existing Account" when "Continue" is mouse clicked....nothing happens. I mean I don't get any feedback that what I entered was correct or not correct. There is a button that can be clicked to send me my password by email but that does not work. I never get an email and I am positive my username, my email address, is typed in correctly.

One more thing I want to add. I even tried to create a new account but the online store won't let me. It highlights in red the username field stating I must type in something else. I assume that means my username is already in their database.

The last 3 or 4 times I ordered I must use the "Place Order Without an Account" option then I must again type in all of my ship to and billing information. That is what I meant earlier. I hate typing in my shipping and billing information in each time.

I found some stuff in my trash folder after having problems with this. The other thing is that I then called the order desk, (China I know), and they should be at work in about an hour or so. They are on the leftest coast and take it easier, and it's now almost 8 a.m. there. A bit early...

Thanks John. It is almost 11:30 PM here in Shenzhen, China and I will sleep soon. Maybe I will wait until Monday to call them. I am ok now, at least until December when I purchase BIAB 2011.

Yes, direct contact with PGMusic Sales is in order, certainly.

There is also the email option.

Don't wait on an open forum to deal with sales problems of any kind, take it directly to the source.

Although ironically, it probably took enough typing to take care of the next 20 orders to complain about it as part of a Forum discussion. At least you got to vent.

Hello Dave,

Sorry you're having trouble with that.. If you don't get the 'forgotten password' email from webmaster when you click continue, the two most likely possibilities are that you didn't type in the login name correctly, or your email address has changed. If that isn't the case, then perhaps something is filtering out the email for some reason, ISP, security software, firewall...

Anyways, you might need to place an order without an account or create a new one. Alternatively, just contact our live chat.

Andrew you are correct, thanks. The username I had input was not correct. It would be helpful if the online store gave feedback that the username was not recognized.

One solution to avoid the wrong input is to use a small application called - Roboform - and save all your user names and passwords safely with just one entry password to the program

Good suggestion Brian. I have so many usernames and passwords I often forget. I try to stick to one for each but websites often have many different rules. Some use email addresses for usernames and others want something else. On passwords some force me to change periodically. A couple of years ago I came up with a password with 6 letters and 6 numbers but found later some websites limit the password to 8 - 10 characters. Other websites only allow 6. Roboform sounds like a good solution for me.
