Musora Pianote, www.musora.com/pianote. Pianote is an online learning platform which combines piano lessons, artist-led courses, and a library of popular songs for you to learn and try. For me, this provides an excellent leaning experience for playing the piano. The site differs from other Web-based piano lessons due to its focus on community – the platform makes it easy to connect with other students, and has opportunities to ask real teachers questions as well. The lessons and huge content are well structured to keep me moving in the right direction and improving my skills on my own schedule. I am a life-time member and have never regretted the modest investment.

I also have been a long-time user of David Wallimanns Guitar Player courses. David has provided lesson based instructions on the web for over 15 years. Today he announced a significant change in how his instruction will be provided going forward. He launched his new platform for Guitar instruction in a video today,
Davids new model will open ALL his lessons to a community based experience, (best I can tell much like the Pianote model). This will be entirely FREE until Black Friday 2023 so now is the time to explore the content. https://community.guitarplayback.com/home

I personally recommend both these sites for any age and any level of player who is looking for instruction in piano/guitar in a novel and productive environment.

Spent a bit of time this morning in confirmed the lesson content is all there and it is all FREE. You may have to register or maybe not. I can't tell since I have always had an account.

Honestly, none. All these wannabe self proclaimed experts, producers, teachers and stars have one thing in common. The rely of Youtube ad revenue because they never play or record.

Very few individuals are making a living doing U-Tube video's.

4.7 million views (across all her postings) brought this gal ~6K USD. So it would be unwise to rely on this to sustain a life style. Musicans need to gig, record or write music to suppliment there living income. Or they need to Teach! All are valuable to us who follow these musicans. The instructors are Musora Pianote that I have followed do all of these options as best I can tell. In the case of David, he is clear that gigging is not where his calling is and his passion is teaching. He has recored several solo and group CD's which are are available on line. And he is working on his next relase now (which he shares his workflow process on line).

Don't be so negative. I would not recommend either of these sites if I didn't personnally see the value. If its not for you, OK - it is not meant for everyone.

The views don't matter as much as how many people want to advertise on the channel. A guy in North Carolina, between Twitch and Youtube advertising, made $56 million in 2022. He is 26 years old. He has 208 million followers. Mary Spender has 698k. Impressive, but not 208 million. It matters how long the viewers watch and how high scaled the advertiser are.

I watch the scambaiters a lot. One of them, with 6.74 million subscribers, made $1.9 million in 2022.

You can make a very good living on Youtube and Twitch, particularly when you do product endorsements, have a patreon account to serve as a tip jar, sell merchandise... Mary Spender would be the last person I pull out as an example. Her videos are as boring as white painted walls. Beato has 3.77 million subs. He is popular enough to make a comfortable living just giving his opinion as to why songs are great.

The purely instructional channels are typically unwatchable, but they must be lucrative because most of the people doing them use it to hawk their instructional videos, show off their millions of dollars worth of gear but never seem to have a band or actually play.

So it isn't the medium. It's the content. I don't need some nobody nothing wannabe guitar player trying to teach me. I'd rather watch a scambaiter get the best of a scammer and endure the ad for Guardio or Aura than a guitar player I never heard of do little more than recite what he read out of a book. The bigger concern they should all have right now is Google owned Youtube's draconian anti ad blocker campaign. Unless people want to remove their ad blockers viewership will like decrease. I'd rather not watch Youtube than let some multi gajillion dollar monopoly like Google and Youtube FORCE me to watch ads. I can't use the word I would like to say to them, but it rhymes with truck.
