Can the solo piano arrangements generated by real tracks be saved as midi files of what's generated??? I'm asking cause i figure if there's notation somehow there's gotta be a way to save that as a midi file... So, can this be done??

Short answer, "not really".
Long answer, "well, with work, maybe".
Those notation files may be MIDI0based, but they were not intended to be *heard* - and thus the Velocity Data is all set to zero. You would have to go in there and change the Velocity of each note to something higher than zero in order to hear it. But once you did that, it very likely still won't sound exactly right, for there is also the timing data of note-on/note-off, which was placed for best notation viewing rather than sounding exactly like the target Realtrack. Expect timing to be off. There are a few other things that would likely be involved.
Lot of work to get there and the end results are likely to be less than nice...

Yes, this is how I just tested it.
Typed in chords and chose blank 4/4 style. Generated Piano RT and used copy/move tracks from "edit" menu, to copy Piano track to melody channel. Rechannel the midi events in the piano roll to channel 4. Then I used the melody edit menu to "adjust level of melody" a couple of times to get the volume levels up. I saved it as type 1 midi file. Opened it in RB and it worked.

What does that Piano Track *sound* like?
I'd think that the Piano, with its hammers and solid note initiation would be the one that would most sound like its original RealTrack. Am wondering, though, about horn tracks and other instruments with slurs and such.
good workaround, Trax

Hi Mac and Muzic Trax, thanks for your responses. I will definitely try that Muzic and yes, I understand the concerns Mac... The problem is, that the solo pianos, even at the correct tempos have funny glitches with tone and sequences... However, if you lower the tempo, even by just 10 beats, it sounds bad.. It's a shame really because, for instance, the prairie piano has only a 100 bpm tempo and it works better at higher tempos if you can't work at the 100 bpm. However, just going to 90 it doesn't sound very good. So, I figured if I could get midi file and add in the pedalling, it could work tonally better using a dedicated piano sound and the tempo would not be an issue.
But there is much in what you say Mac, I will try the experiment of Muzic and see what kind of results I get and how close to the original musical execution is there... I really wish all the solo pianos were at 65, 85, 120 and 160. That way there's enough variance to go up in bpm. Going down bpm works for some of the instruments, not for the solo piano.

A quick way is to paste the Midi File into the Windows Clipboard and open with File > Open from Clipboard in RealBand or PTW. This copies all Midi tracks including RealCharts fo editing.

All these methods work and Peter's way is the easiest... And the results are definitely sound good, you just have to edit the pedaling... that's not bad at all, considering that now you can fine tune the tempo down and not have any of the artefacts... So, FYI, this is a very viable alternative for those tunes that don't fall in the best tempo for solo piano... But you have to know how to edit the pedaling... That's controller 64 for those who wonder what I'm talking about...

anyway, having done this now with some of the piano tracks, just wanted to mention that it does work, but it works better with some piano tracks than others... Definitely if you have a piano track that's not sounding good because of speed it's worth at try... I'm next going to try to find out if some that aren't working as good it's because I'm rendering them at the incorrect tempo for optimum results... Like for instance, if the tracks work best at 85 bpm and I'm rendering them at 65 bpm, that may be causing the problem... The other problem is just editing the pedaling... But I knew that going into this...
