Yes, I really do like the horn real tracks but horns don't always solo. I like dixie and it would be nice to be able to have a tailgate trombone, a background clarinet and a trumpet that plays a pattern instead of a solo. I also would like to create rhyme & blues horn sections. Any chance we're going to see anything of this nature in the future? Also any chance PG Music will open up the Real Tracks to 3rd party development? I like the idea that they give instructions on how to create your own real drums. I haven't seen anybody produce any but it's nice to have the instructions out there so someone could. It would also be great if we had instructions on how to make our own real tracks. Maybe we could get some horn players together and add these new tracks and make the program even more valuable than it already is. Or am I just dreaming?

Why not use the existing BIAB harmonies? There does seem to be plenty of "tailgate" horn accompaniments there. On the other hand, if you're asking for Realtrack horn accompaniments (as opposed to RT soloists), I'm not sure you would really need Realtrack quality horns for this.
IMHO (If it were me), use BIAB to quick-generate your 'patterns' and then use RB to create multiple horn tracks to 'build' my horn accompaniment or I'd just invest in a better synth solution (hardware maybe?) to make the built-in harmonies sound better.
Just a thought as that seems to be my only solution at the moment also.

This has got me thinking it would be great to have some James Brown type Soul tracks - MIndight hour knock on wood type things, with a real horn section. The horns on these tracks are really quite basic so they would not be difficult to do. I am pposting on wish list.

In that the entire body of work, the program, the recording, the methods and the software logic belong to pg music I think you are really dreaming thinking they are going to show 3rd party people how to roll their own. Not like they might not be reverse engineered to a degree, but I honestly would be keeping this knowledge close to my chest. And of course not every customer is going to be satisfied. Someone is going to want realbagpipes, another real bouzouki and yet another realalpenhorn. Not happening soon. I'm waiting for the real shriner's oriental band tracks with eastern drums, the double reed musette. Now that's fun.

John, if Steinberg had said the same about VST technology where would we be? You dont have to reveal the whole shabang.

Perhaps, then perhaps not. PG did afterall make it possible to create your own real drums. It might not be that much of a leap to suppose at some point they could decide to release instructions on how to construct a real track.
Frankly though, I've been amazed at the large base of real tracks that has been built up over a relatively short time. At least on the Audiophile side of things, PG is going to soon half to figure a method of spanning multiple hard drives in order to keep adding new real tracks.

I was all agog when real tracks first came out. Then I heard Mac's demos of the Ketron SD2. As a trumpet player, I am very impressed with the quality of the brass via the SD2 including horns with mutes. The OP could work with the SD2 in RealBand and achieve his desired end result. I realize that might take some time for some of us who are not "pros", but it can be done. FWIW
