Just a thought Tony . . . but is it really the low volume of your speaking or (what I have found) people just don't listen to the spoken word/announcement as closely as they do to a vocal. With that said maybe all you need is an attention getter i.e. Drum Roll, Ta Ta etc. preceding your announcements.

I say this because many times I hand a mic preset for announcements, or even the same mic I am using to sing through to an activity director for their announcements, and I know they are speaking in a loud voice, and most times it still takes an attention getter to get them heard.

In the retirement communities minus a Drum Roll or Ta Ta I just announce that my next tune is a Rap or Heavy Metal tune . . . that usually gets their attention. But kidding aside I usually have a drum roll wav file at the ready fo such occassions.
