Hi Folks.
Here is one of my latest tune for your entertainment or suffering smile All constructive comments are encouraged and appreciated.
Thank you for listening!

Last Straw

He was a lone little boy,
Playing in sand with toy soldiers.
Now he's grown up man,
carrying a heavy gun on his shoulder.

All the roads that he took led nowhere,
all the people he met, made him sad.
Walking on a leash his despair,
talking to ghosts in his head.

She was a sweet little girl
nursing her plush teddy bear.
Life has thrown her against the wall -
chasing phantom goals, that brought nothing
but locks of gray hair.

Dogs of the winter, cats of the sun
lost daughters, prodigal sons...
I've heard this tale so many times...
Trying to stay awake,
stepping on the same rake,
staring at cold stars,
cherishing memories of scars.

All the stones that we cast-must come down.
Bloody battles will end in a draw.
Trying to save what is left of love,
like a drowning man grasping to the straw.

Cool swirling music with lots of ear candy.

There were some spots where the music drowned out the lyrics, but I guess that's why it's written down, too. wink

I enjoyed listening!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

HI Misha,,

Now, was that cool, or what? I vote for cool. Very creative and exciting.

I particularly liked this part of the lyric:

Trying to stay awake,
stepping on the same rake,
staring at cold stars,
cherishing memories of scars.

And the backing tracks - great!

This adventure in music was my time well-spent.

Take care, Misha.

Alan

Extremely cool! Love the arrangement and the brief instrumental break, but I'd like to have heard the vocals more up front as without seeing the written lyrics I wouldn't have heard most of the words.

Very cool, swirling tune that sounds great. You've definitely mastered this style of composition. Love the way you keep so much going on inside the song without losing clarity. Can't disagree with previous observations on clarity of the vocals, but the placement of the vocals does sound very cool as-is. Enjoyed it!

A great way to start the day. David Snyder's cool and crazy Dorian riff, then the magic of another favorite uncategorical songwriter.

Love the changes in feeling you achieve in this one, Misha. Very good vocal and a terrific job mixing all the fun ingredients you manage to cook into this tasty treat. Your creative lyrics match your musical creativity and bring us such wonderful entertainment. Your songs always seem fresh on each listen. Love it!!

Enjoy whatever happens!

Misha. Although the instrumental tracks are always a joy, your lyrics and voice are really refreshing and need to be heard.
I suggest you either turn one up or turn the other down about 3db.
Great stuff.

I really enjoy your productions. You get great tones. This one has a really cool groove, almost sounds like something out of Phantom of the Opera in a good way. And your lyrics are fantastic, they are pure poetry.

I like your music. It's generally on the dark side and you don't really care about using rhymes.

Again, you don't disappoint.

Nicely done.

Misha,

You musical palette is vast and colorful, mixed together for a result of black-and-white-and-shades-of-grey.
All woven into a beautiful tapestry.
Film Noire in a 3-minute musical composition.

You create Music that Transports the Listener to new Worlds.

Your productions are always impressive. Eye-opening.

Misha, I think I've said this a few times already , but I LOVE your songs and productions because they are so different in the best possible way, and this one is no exception.
This is sooooo cool in every way.
My only little nit is that the vocals could have a dB or three more in some places.

Hi Misha,

I had a break for a few weeks and saw I missed an enourmous ammount of songs on the forum. I am trying to catch up with a lot of them.
But I don't listen to more then 5 a day, otherwise I fear I don't take them serious.
And now I listened to your song, responded on your SounCloud page how cool this song was and after that I saw a lot of post saying what a cool song this is!
So, I was right on that. It is a cool song! Excellent lyrics, vocals and mix!
A bit sweet, a bit menacing and topped with a melancholic sauce. Exactly your style, Misha!

Love it,
Hans

Sad story and unfortunately "grasping to the last straw" is all we can do in the middle of this spreading madness. The chord progression is very nice combining eastern and western influences. Great arrangement, catchy rhythmic bed, quite many instruments without sounding crowded. I especially like the intriguing intro and that descending part before the actual guitar solo. Seems like there are quite many interesting RTs I should get more familiar with.

Misha, no suffering here.
Super groove and instrumentation.
Great vocal and lyrics, however I also wish the vocals were a tad louder.

Excellent.
A narrative that is contemporary, international and timeless.
Musically - another impressive style blend, rebuild, creation making disparate elements work in concert.
LOVE it.

Rusty,

This is an extremely engaging composition, and I like everything about it.

The musical arrangement and production work is incredible and really keeps you fascinated throughout.

The styles you use are always very exotic and different from the things that you typically hear and that makes me love them!!

Great job with everything. I really like your songs a lot.
