Jokes do not translate well in the cyber world, many time humor is mistaken in a forum conversation.Still I think two things are at work here. PitB you are still a tad miffed by the responses you received in the other two post, and it shows in your attempt at humor. One should most likely not joke about something that is a sore subject until it has for the most part become old news.
I think Pat said it well in the other post, you need to dial down the sarcasm in your responses, at least for now until the bad taste in both your mouth and others goes away. I also agree with some of the others, you made some valid points, that were not taken well by many of us including myself due to the way you handle these things. People take offense to direct criticism, especially from one whom they are unfamiliar with, and maybe has not "earned that right" to make that observation. Not even having the program, and certainly making an assumption that is not totally valid, due to not being aware of everyone who uses this program. It takes time to learn all that is involved, and the user base is vast, and worldwide.
PitB i think you can offer some valuable contributions here, and i welcome that, but to get there, a couple things will help. Be a little less aggressive, and also a little less defensive at the same time. Once you have offered something other than criticism, and gained the "friendship of a few around here, what you say will resonate with more power, and people with understand your brand of humor.
Respectfully, Rob

I write: Not miffed, broken up as in with laughter. It indeed was sarcastic, but not aimed at Sundance, it was written to show the sillyness of the responses I received.

I write: These requirements are too tough. I'll simply live as I have for the previous 40 years, without you or any of these people.
I also write: Another regular occurance on forums is people telling others how to think, how to act, and how to do basicly everything. Usually the people closest to the the forum runners and/or moderators are the ones that make lengthy posts bestowing the virtues of being an agreeable forum member...knowing that any resistance they might receive, will be combatted by other forum zealots.
Almost as if they dont want anybody new around, they want to hassle them and show everybody how powerful they are...the almighty moderators of a forum!
Nobody can disagree with you when you run the board, that's the beauty of it, the mod is always right.
My goodness, the net is one giant looney bin. I refuse to be told what joke I can make
Have fun making the PG army the strongest in the world.

I simply gave you some good advice, if you refuse it that is fine, it is your choice. I did so respectfully as someone older and more seasoned than yourself. I have been participating in Music board forums not for a very long time, here and elsewhere. I have seen folks come in with your attitude countless times, and it never goes well.
As far as the jokes and sarcasm, that to is your choice. You laugh at the people here as if you are above them, and all are foolish children, that attitude will not win friends and influence enemies. You think everyones responses are silly, but for the most part, there are many here that think you are the silly one. If you can't see that you played any part in all of this, then there in not much use in further conversation. It is all everyone else and you share no responsibility. That is plain and simple, pride and arrogance. You want to live life your way, you have the right, but you are not alone here, or in the world. This forum is in all respects a community, and communities much like the real world, run according the majorities rules. Laws, principles and ettiquete are dictated by the way the majority function in a community. Those who could care less about others views, or feel that they are right no matter what, seldom fair well in any community.
As far as new ones coming in, there are new folks coming in almost every week, and 99.9% of them come in and ask respectful question, even complain a bit, but most listen to the advice and offerings of the forum regulars, and the product makers. You came in and took a shot at the software, the company and the music made by the people who come to this forum. Then when other object to that, you find fault with every one of them, and laugh at it, making sacastic remarks. Some tried sincerly to offer ideas, personal songs, and advice. All of which you continued to be critical of, and in some fashion redicule.
Finally, we all agree that Band in a Box is not a live band of musicians, and songs made with it need some work to make it sound close to one, we all know that many of the users here are not pros, myself included, and that most of our songs are not radio ready. But to say that all the songs are bad, well that is first off unkind, and unfair, and secondly unwise if you are asking for help from the same people.
I will also offer that sometimes the long timers get rather zealotish in their defense of their favortie software. But it was shown to you by some users that the program is used to make money, is a useful tool, and good solid music can come out of it. The maker of the program tried to talk to you about it, and you if i remember right laughed at his comments. In the end everyone tried to calm it down a notch and offer helpful and sincere ideas. You were the one that then tried to poke fun at a sore spot, but hey you "refuse to be told what joke to use" You are entitled to say and act anyway you want, but it will not encourage others to be willing to help you in any way.
You may respond if you want or you can exercise your right to ignore me, or you can battle with me some more and tell me that along with 20 other people we are dead wrong. At this point I am past really caring. I only post this to make one more effort to be fair, and honest with you. I also tried this in my last post which you took apart and only addressed the issues that you feel support your views. I do sincerly hope you find what you are looking for. Regards Rob.
