Two ways:
1. Make a copy of the part so you have 2 tracks with the part. Do a fade in on one track and a fade out on the other. Play around.
2. In the mixer view record mixer moves.

Hi Travellerboy,

I've just tried a little experiment that seemed to do what you were requiring. It relates to John's second point above.

Under the "WIndow" menu, select #7, the Mixer Window. At the bottom of the mixer window, there's a button with a red dot on it. If you hover your mouse over it for a couple of seconds, a pop-up box should say "record only mixer moves". Click this button on. Now start the song and, for the appropriate track, gently move the mixer's panning slider from left to right. When you have done as much as you need to, stop the song and select "Yes" for the "keep recorder mixer moves" that will pop up.

If you need to delete the mixer moves, the button on the immediate right of the record button will delete this information for you.

Good luck!
Noel

P.S. Before you start working on your song, I suggest you save a back-up copy so that if things get messed up, you can always return to the original.

There is another way which is useful for smooth Pans. In the Main Tracks Window, highlight the portion of track you wish to Pan and then use Edit > Fill and Controller 10 (Pan). Default is 0 to 127 ie; left to right. This is not intuitive like recording the Mixer moves, but is useful in certain circumstances.

OK, I'm going to show my ignorance on RB here, possibly:

I would have assumed that this would be possible using an automation curve - but then I recall that track volume can't be controlled via automation curves from a post a few months back.

I seem to remember this was a talked-about recent feature of PTPA and RB - automation curves - but I can't find any documentation on what is controllable with automation curves in PG software.

Can anyone point me to the proper page(s) where I could see this information.

How about just using the PG tremolo? That would give you a similar effect if the segment wasn't too long.

You need to use the Piano Roll Window - Help from there will help. You can vary Controller Data graphically, although for Audio tracks this is limited to CC7 Volumn, CC10 Pan.

Yes, an automated Pan for an Audio track can be accomplished via the PianoRoll window and simply drawing in the Pan with the mouse. CC10
