A well deserved honor for one of the greatest showman of all time. He was and still is affectionately know in the New Orleans area as "Big Chief". He, Keely Smith and the addition of Sam Butera made this IMHO the greatest show band of all time. His influence is heard (although not always recognized by the younger generation) in many performers and arrangements today. Any gig in South Louisiana is not complete until you do Gigolo, Hey Marie and The Sheik of Araby “Big Chief Style”.
