Be nice if bnb or realband to be able to extract stems from a song file such as fadr , moesis etc . Can this be an update to both bnb and realband.

Extract Stems - This will extract stems from the selected region. Individual instruments such as bass, drums, and vocals will be extracted onto their own separate Utility tracks. This feature requires a stem splitter application to be installed. Also: Extract Drums Bass Vocals etc.. from songs with Spleeter in Reaper ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=27645&filename=BB24-Extract-Stems.png)

How well does it work? Logic Pro 11 has a stem splitter but it’s limited to vocals, bass, drums and anything else goes into other. Most songs I make have more than four instruments

Song Master Pro has a stems function. It’s helpful for studying a song.
The resulting audio is often warbly/wishy sounding. It takes a powerful computer several minutes to complete, by far the longest process of anything I do.
The resulting MIDI is very difficult to use and align. There is no MIDI for drums.
It’s similar to the description above for Logic in that it generates tracks for vocal, bass, piano, guitar, drums, and another track for ‘everything else’.
I’m sure the performance will continue to improve. Even now, it’s very helpful for transcribing a song. It is already the best program I have that comes closest to figuring out complex chords.

I found Ultimate Vocal Remover does a good job with Stem Separation. It is FREE. But has a learning curve. One can choose from various models, even Combine them. If you have a AI capable Graphics Card, the calculation time would reduce. Some models allow for 7 different instruments. Studio One 7 has a Stem separation funktion build in now. Most cases I just use that if I just need a Karaoke track with Voice removed. Works fine for that purpose, only in rare cases I employ UVR.

Above I gave a comment about Song Master Pro, which I use almost daily to do transcriptions. Since that post, Studio One Pro released a new feature in their DAW and it gives, in my opinion, a cleaner resulting sound of the stems. There are two fewer stems, however. It was discussed here in another thread a few weeks ago.
This is clearly an area where improvements are happening rapidly. Only a couple of years ago we were saying that you could not unbake the cake.

I agree this is new technology that is going to get better. All of the ones I’ve tried to a pretty good job on bass and drums. The other stuff isn’t quite there yet. Music technology is moving really. For the near future it will benefit all of us here. Long term? I don’t know. Ai versions of a new Beatles song are already out there. It’s great, but if the future of music is Ai generated stuff, there won’t be a lot of artistry involved. Then after a period of bland Ai music, there will “artists” who use Ai tools to create beautiful music.
