Hi all, I'm new to BIAB but it looks like the perfect tool to help with my AI workflow. I just need to find out if it's suitable before I buy. Is it possible to do the below? I've been inspired by your video.

Option 1
  • 1 - Make the lyrics in ChatGPT.
  • 2 - Using https://melodystudio.net, create the chords and melody using the lyrics above. Export both midis.
  • 3 - Import the chord midi & melody midi into BIAB, and generate an instrumental using a style.
  • 4 - Export the wav song into Synth V, along with the melody midi.
  • 5 - Using Synth V, generate the singing voice using the melody midi from melodystudio.

Option 2
  • 1 - Make the lyrics in ChatGPT.
  • 2 - Create an instrumental in BIAB using a style.
  • 3 - Using BIAB, generate a melody from the lyrics (I'm not sure if this is possible?).
  • 4 - Export the wav song into Synth V, along with the melody midi.
  • 5 - Using Synth V, generate the singing voice using the melody midi from BIAB.

I just got BiaB Win2024. About a week.
I'm looking into making songs with melodist then using SynthV to make scratch vocals and into Cubase for finishing touches. It might work well, but it's difficult to navigate the melodist, and I'm still not sure about the styles being applied. I worry that too much style gets applied. Put on a Joplin style, and there's no getting away from it. It sounds like Joplin alright.

So far I'm just messing around with BiaB, and I haven't made anything I want to keep, but it's fun anyways. It might be too much of a distraction if I can't find the sound I'm looking for though. I was hoping for a shortcut. So far it's not that at all. Learning curve, or not for me? I'm still not sure.

I wouldn't use MelodyStudio, as it is subscription based, and Melodist will make you a song and help with melodies. From the melodies I have made, they would need tweaking to get singable lines.

I don't think there is a way to match melody lines to lyrics, but just manipulate lyrics to fit, or generate a new melody.

These are my thoughts as a new user. Not knowing a damn thing. grin

Thanks for the feedback. I might move away from MelodyStudio and use HookPad instead, as that's more popular (plus they have a new AI feature).

How do the chord and melody midi imports work? Would I be able to to this and then apply styles to make a full instrumental?

I have toyed with Hookpad a bit, and it's really good. Even without Aria Ai, there are tools to sculpt songs. I'm this close to getting it. You can't see it, but my thumb and first finger are really close together. They keep adding new stuff that makes it appealing. $200 is a little steep for me right now though.

I think with Hookpad, it might work better straight into a DAW with SynthV. It's similar to Scaler, but more intuitive.
