What an great program. And now with the features of Mus-Hub added it continues to get better. On top of that it is FREE!
I already am a long time user and I am even familar with Mus-Hub from its use with MusScore. But why don't I use it more? Because I have spent the past 20+ years purchasing professional music apps to do every thing this does. BUT - if I was to advise someone new to this music making game, this would be one of the first things which I would recommend!

I'm in the same situation, Dan. Starting new, I would give Audacity a good look.
For over 30 years I used Cool Edit, which turned into Col Edit Pro then Adobe Audition. For about two years now, I've been using Acoustica Premium, by Acon Digital.
BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Roland Integra-7, Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

I switched from SpectraLayers v6 to Acoustica Premium years ago for the spectral editing. Little did I know how useful the included Restoration Suite plugins were going to be. It also includes the Master Suite plugins which I haven't used much, but all of that aside, it's a damn fine audio editor. It also now comes with an ARA2 plugin, which allows it to be used directly within Studio One, for example. It isn't integrated in SO the way Melodyne is, but it works fine. Excellent user interface and super fast. IMO, it was money very well spent.
