Lazy Summer Days

It is a hot humid summer day and you are lying in the grass looking up at the clouds. As the clouds drift by you say things like that one looks like an elephant and that one looks like a car, etc. Meanwhile the clouds all say that one looks like an idiot!

BiaB style - Emergent MIDI New Age Pop Waltz
Tempo - 60 BPM
I deleted the bass, drums and guitar
Piano - Kontakt - Pure Jazz Vibes
Strings - Kontakt - Amadeus - full string ensemble and Solid State Strings
Utility - Lounge Lizard - tine based - 12 Warm Model V

I am playing my nylon string guitar, via my keyboard controller the Engine Player - Forest Kingdon - Xiao Flute, and via my breath and keyboards controllers the Swam Cello.

As always all comments are welcomed.

Back in my day the only time we started panic buying was when the bartender shouted "last call"!

Very cool tune, Mario! That ambient vibe between the strings and piano is really nice, and the cello sounds divine. Love your acoustic guitar lines as well, and the tone/placement in the mix. Think you've done a great job executing your looking-up-in-the-clouds theme. That 4+ minutes just FLEW by...I must have gotten lost in the clouds! You really excel at these slow tempo pieces, and your creative deployment of your arsenal of MIDI controllers. Fun stuff!

Mario,

Love this. So peaceful & tranquil. The combination of your guitar and flute / cello is superb. The mix is outstanding.

What an atmosphere this piece creates - simply beautiful...

Oh, I love playing the idiot for the clouds. Once wrote a song called Moon Illusions (although I skipped the clouds' jabs). Man, you surround your tunes with the best little instrument gems to bring out the best (most creative) feel. Visual music for sure. Many have said you should be writing for movie soundtracks. I'd really love to see a whole movie with just scenes rolling over your music. Actually, that's kinda what I see every time I listen to one of yours.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Well, I wouldn't like to be lying on the grass watching clouds at the moment, because I might get struck by lightning. But it is equally satisfying just to lie on the sofa and to listen to another masterpiece by super-Mario. And I can see the beautiful and colorful clouds you have painted with your instruments drifting in front of the eyes of my mind and they look like guitar, flute and cello hmmm maybe I'm an idiot wink. The melody is mesmerizing and the atmosphere is lush, full of life and summer, Eden where I would like to stay forever. Musical perfection at its finest.

Mario,
The nylon sounds good. Very well recorded (and played).
Interesting that you can use a wind controller to play cello...
Good mix.
Very chill.

I like your interplay between guitar, flute and cello. Very creative and soothing.
This belongs in a tranquil movie.
You have certainly mastered this genre.
Great job.

For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

Another beautiful piece of sonic art from the M Meister.
A very fine bed of imaginative, contemplative relaxing music Mario. I will give it to our Yoga teacher to play during the recovery session after our next class. It is perfect.

Your compositions are always enjoyable to listen to. I find myself not trying to analyze, but just drifting along where you take me on the musical journey. I am amazed by all the parts you put together for a stunning production.

This is amazing. I've said this before: this sounds so simple to do. It isn't. It's SO difficult, at least my view, to create something like this and make it sound as effortless and easy as you do. You're a top-notch, so talented musician. The balance here is perfect in my headphones. Much music in this style can easily jar, when listening to it, because just one or two notes are out of place. Nothing is out of place here - not the dynamics, not the texture ... well done, Mario, sincerest congratulations.

LOL, Mario, but I doubt the clouds are saying that back to you!

Nice mood-altering music here! It's making my workday less stressful so thank you for that!

Thanx so much Ron. I did have a hard time mixing this one but apparently I got it right. Those Swam instruments are fantastic.

Thanx so much Marty. I have no goal in writing for a movie. As I have said before after playing wedding gigs for years playing what the customer wanted to hear I now have the option to play what I want to hear. I'm just glad others are finding enjoyment in them.

Thanx Floyd. It is amazing the sound I get out of that cheap stick-on piezo pickup going straight into my DAW. I use the breath controller as my volume control. That leaves my left hand available for other nuances like vibrato, bow position, etc, which are assigned to my keyboard sliders.

Thanx so much Steve but I have mastered nothing. I'm just a hacker having fun. I'm glad you liked it.

Thanx so much. MIDI really isn't that hard. The hardest part is finding sounds that blend good together and fit well in the BiaB tracks. I'm glad you liked it.
