Ron, Really like this one--opening is engaging and it keeps the ear all the way through. The vocal is compelling, the lyrics are terrific, and the BGV harmonies sing . . . I have used the BIAB oohs and aahs occasionally, but like you I think they often sound a bit artificial . . .I usually use them more to augment BGVs than stand on their own . . . Regardless, you use them nicely here. Cool tune! Deej Glad you liked it, Deej! Using the BiaB BGVs to layer with sung BGVs had not occurred to me, may have to try that out. Thanks for the listen AND the tip! Ron. I really enjoyed this song. A classic case of keeping it simple. A quality vocal and BGV harmonies.

The first thing that popped into my head was what a cool mix. Vocal was awesome and what a cool groove. I got an Everly brothers vibe. One of my favorite tunes of yours. Really well done....

He has a great talent for writing gut wrenching lyrics that are (usually) not autobiographical. In our division of labor, I take the lyrics and write the song using BiaB accompaniment, and record the scratch vocals. If we like it enough, Dusty will sing it as he did here. The mix and production are the last step, as you would expect, and require a bit of trial and error on my part. So glad you liked the results!

Band-in-a-Box 2026 Video: AI Stems & Notes - split polyphonic audio into instruments and transcribe
This video demonstrates how to use the new AI-Notes feature together with the AI-Stems splitter, allowing you to select an audio file and have it separated into individual stems while transcribing each one to its own MIDI track. AI-Notes converts polyphonic audio—either full mixes or individual instruments—into MIDI that you can view in notation or play back instantly.
