Hi_
I am trying to open an audio CD File (.cda) however I get an error message that Band in a Box cannot find the CDRipperX.ocx file.
Does any one know a fix for the problem?
(Version 2006 for Windows)

What drive are you running the program from? Internal or external?
See if that file is on that drive.
Maybe it didn't get copied to the internal drive or maybe the external file is corrupted, in which case it would mean just getting the file from support or something.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Do you have a CD ripper software program?

BB Audio Chord wizard has a ripper in the program. Just push the Audio Chord Wizard button, find the file, and BB will do the rest. If that doesn't happen, there's something wrong with BB. You might have to reload or call help desk.

Hello Hog,
Run Band-in-a-Box as an administrator (right-click on the .exe and select Run as admin) and open a CD audio file during this session.

I am having an error message saying "cannot find 'cdripperx.ocx' cannot ripp" when I try to load a cd track.
I had just reinstalled Band in a Box 2008-5 after my computer needed to be reinstalled.
The pc is a hp running Vista 64 bit. I know the sequencer won't work in 64 bit but I was able to rip cd's before and run everything else. Now I get this error. I can't remember how I got around it before.
There is a post saying to use the automatic chord wizard to load the cd track but it made no difference. I still get the same error.
I would eventually like to upgrade to the 2011 version if it works in 64 bit but I want to make sure this version does everything that I need first before spending so much money.
Can anyone suggest a solution.

Are you able to rip the song from the CD to a "WAV" file using Windows Media Player?
If so, try bringing the WAV file in.
Just a thought.
