Very enjoyable rock song with a great production. Back in the 80s I had a multiple waking experience and being certain I was awake I'd get so far once out of bed and suddenly I'd find myself back in bed and then getting up again. It happened so many times that once I was really awake I had no criteria to know that whether I was awake or dreaming again, so I went straight out and caught a bus to a friends place and only once there did I become certain I was truly awoke. On a TV documentary about lucid dreaming, also back in the 80s, a young woman described repeatedly getting up, going to school and getting halfway through the day, then she'd wake up and realise she'd been dreaming. My periods of being sure I was awake only lasted minutes, but this lady spent hours multiple times thinking she was awake when each time she'd been dreaming.

Some favourite Waoist Adages:
#1: Play on the Way.
#13: Ask not for whom the flower blooms, it blooms for you.
#58: Bring consciousness to it.
#63: On the road to effortlessness, effort must be made.
#92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.

That is one hot song! Too bad they don't play hard-driving power pop on the radio any more, but I guess that doesn't matter, not many people listen to radio for top music anymore. Splendid mix. Don't change anything. I love the bass.

Thank you, Mario! Yeah, I was surprised with how far this developed with only three BiaB instruments in the backing track. But it sounds right to me so I guess it is. Glad you enjoyed your listen!

That is not an easy combination to master (like this).

I like your fills.

A terrific, cohesive sound. Well mixed.

Thanks for keeping it real.

Thanks, Floyd! You're right about the vocal FX, I probably should have given the vocals a bit more ambience. That's always the trickiest part for me. Or one of them. Have to confess that I use trial and error for the final mix: Make a master, listen in a bunch of different environments, fix what doesn't work, rinse, repeat. Glad you enjoyed the tune!

Cool lyric!

“I can see the insides of my eyelids or is that the blackness in her soul”
Our first thought when we read this was, “Wake up and get outta there!”

We much like your vocals and axe work.
And those BiaB guys are rockin!

The mix is big yet clean and open. YES!
Excellent soundstage on the Kalis.

Enjoyed it!

THANKS, Rob! Funny, my lyricist believed these lyrics could never be made into an enjoyable song. So...jokes on him! Glad you enjoyed the song.

I noticed you played a Peavey Predator Plus - I'm not sure what the 'plus' is, but I still own my Peavey Predator strat - a wonderfully versatile guitar that was ideal for me as I made the transition from bedroom acoustic strummer to playing in a band. I mostly use my Gretsch hollow body nowadays - as you say in your signature - one can never have enough!

Thanks, Andrew! Surfin'/pop/metal sounds good to me! Thanks for listening.

The Peavey Predator AX (not Plus, I corrected the credit) is basically a Predator body and neck with everything else upgraded at the factory. My Avatar is a Predator AX, though not the one I played here. (My signature doesn't say "Too many guitars" for no reason) Only made the Predator AX in small numbers from about 1993-1995, so they're not common. I agree with you on the versatility of the Predator. Best bang for the buck for a Strat style guitar IMHO.

Hey Ron this is incredibly cool man.

I love those guitar harmonics but I can't believe that you would have the audacity to steal some of my tricks right here on the forum for everyone to see!

As my good friend Greta Thunberg would say: how dare you!

But anyway man this sounds really good all around in your classic DC Ron kicking style!

Really enjoyed it! Fun tune!

Thank you, Marty! The guitar fills were a lot of fun. Knew I wanted that tremolo shimmy over the "bad dream" line, then worked out from there. Yeah, nuthin' screams 60's like a Strat played clean with a bit o' reverb...

Thank you, Dan. I'm not huge on clanging cymbals either, but once I committed to it I did try to EQ it down a bit. Should have gone for the cowbell instead. Ha!

Hi, David. Glad you enjoyed the tune! You have so many, MANY neat musical tricks, and I'm 100% sure I've been influenced by them. Can't put my finger on the one I stole here unless it's the harmonics. But imitation IS the sincerest form of flattery (followed by forum posts) so there's that. Solid tune, Ron!

I liked the driving beat, your vocals, lyrics, the modulations, and the guitar at the end.

It's nice to hear a straight-up rock song.

Nice.... I like that bell ride.

I like this and it's a good mix

Thanks, Herb. The "final" mix is by far the hardest decision and takes the most work for me. Glad it worked for you. I might change it anyway though...it's just my nature. Ha!
