Hi, I have been using band in a box 8 to create some drum tracks, I have made these into standard Midi files and then loaded them into Powertracks to add some live audio. When I convert the Midi drum track to audio I get a reverb type of effect which is not there if I just play the Midi file, I did not put this on in Band in a box I left the reverb at zero and there are no effects on in Powertracks.
Any Ideas as to whats happening here.

What softsynth are you using?
If VSC, the reverb defaults to 40 for the drums when it is loaded up.
Turn the reverb off in the VSC settings dialogue.
Or use a control change on channel 10 to force it to zero
Control change # 91 and 93 with a value of zero will turn the chorus and reverb off.

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately I have no Idea about the ins and outs of Midi, can you explain in laymens terms what I need to check and do.

Check to make sure that only the newly created Audio of the Drum track is playing.
If you did not mute the MIDI track, you are likely hearing both, slightly out of time with each other, and mistaking that for a reverb/echo effect.

Check Mac's suggestion, I hadn't thought of that.
You didn't answer which softsynth you are using, so I assume VSC.
What I was suggesting.
I can't actually open to give exact directions as I am on 64 bit machine so no VSC on this one. But if you open the VSC interface in the bottom right is a way to open a few menu items (may require right-click, but I don't think so, and may be labeled settings)
You can turn the reverb itself off in those menus.
Then render the track with no reverb turned on for a dry track.
Turn it back on afterwards if desired.
Alternatively you could rewind song,open the Event List for the drum track and enter a contol change #91 on MIDI channel 10 with a value of 0; same result, no reverb. Render track.
Change the control change value back to 30-40 afterwards if desired.
