Hello, forum friends I made this song over 20 years ago, but I never posted it on this forum, so I'm posting it now. It was live recorded by Yamaha teachers at the recording session of our music circle. I only had a two-track stereo source, so I used SpectraLayers to break it down into each part and remixed it. And I also introduce the BIAB version of the song that was made also over 20 years ago. It was made for the lyricist to learn the melody of this song. I usually prepare a instrumental demo version of the song made in advance with BIAB for lyricists. Any comments encouraged. Always welcome. Best regards. Shigeki Adachi Title: 愛は夢の中で (Translation: Love lives still in my dreams) Vocal: Yoko, my friend Accompanied by Yamaha Teachers Link of Live Band Versuion: https://soundcloud.com/animarorecords/love-lives-in-my-dreamsLink of BIAB Version: https://soundcloud.com/animarorecords/love-lives-in-my-dreams-demoStyle is P_PHIL_C.STY(MIDI) Style MIDI Instruments are : Fretless Bass (36), Electric Piano #1 (5), Electric Muted Guitar (29), Synth Voice (55), MIDI Drums :No Drum Patch Change (0) Played with Kontact and etc. Summary of lyrics: At the window in the morning, held in your embrace, Your radiant smile was dazzling. The happy times I thought I had forgotten, I dream them again and again in my shallow sleep. In a cold room, without turning on the light, Unable to sleep, I turned on the radio, A gentle melody flowed softly, And I cried alone again in the middle of the night. Why do you smile? Why are you so kind? Where did you go? Leaving me behind? "I love you," "I won't leave you," Again in my dream, your voice is so close, It won't leave my ears. But now I can only meet you in my dreams. We walked side by side on a small path, We left our footprints in the swaying sunlight filtering through the trees. We frolicked on the beach in the summer sun, Why did we lose those happy days? Why do you smile? Why are you so kind? All the words you gave me, "I love you," "I won't leave you," I still remember them so clearly. On a starless night, with nowhere to go, I wander the streets searching for you. The city below is shining brightly, But it blurs and fades away, Just like you. Why do you smile? Why are you so kind? I don't want to wake up, I want to be by your side, I love you, I can't forget you, What should I do? Give my love back to me. Wandering through the blurred city, Searching for you, I called your name. In the endless night, I’m again in my dream, Waking up and then returning to the dream My heart is still captive to you

Shigeki,
It's very cool to hear something you made 20 years ago. You have some of the best arranging skills around. A very enjoyable listen.

Shigeki, very nice song.
The live band version is very full sounding. Love the musical shifts in the middle section, they sound very cool. The shimmering pad beneath most of the track is a very nice touch, too. Vocals are fabulous. ALL the players are fabulous, in fact.
The BiaB version is less nuanced, as one would expect, but loses none of the beauty of the song.
You've been doing this at a very high level for a very long time!

Amazingly good production as I've come to expect. Even the BiaB instrumental has a great atmosphere. Love the strings and the guitar solo, too.

Beautiful song with an amazing singer. If I don't pay attention to the lyrics, it almost sounds like a French chanson from a French film. Very good ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/images/icons/default/thumbs_up.gif)

Shigeki, you obviously are working at a higher production level than most of us here and I'm in awe of that, but I just want to also point out how good your lyrics always are. So poetic! I'm sure they're even better in Japanese. Kontakt came out in 2002, so you've been using it since the beginning, apparently. Again, I'm in awe of your work.

Shigeki, although the BiaB version was OK you just can't beat live musicians, they sound great. Super vocal also. Your arranging skills are second to none. Super mix. An outstanding song.

Nicely done. A very subtle backing. Lovely strings. Cool guitar. Cool to see the BIAB version first...

Sweet. I thoroughly enjoyed the Live version and will get back to it presently. First, what a treat it was listening to the 20-year-old Biab track. I have some of them too, and when done here, I might go back to listen. What I liked most about this, of course, is the strings.
Same with the Live version. Man, I love those strings. Wow, what the teachers did for this song is dynamic and dramatic. Love the melody, and the singer makes it soar. Love it, Shigeki.

B.D.,
Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment. I am really glad you like this tune and my vocalist. I'm a big fan of Michel Legrand, Francis Lai, and Charles Aznavour. I also listened to a lot of French pops when I was young. So I think that influence is strongly present in my music. I am always very encouraged by your kind words.
Best regards.

Lovely song Shigeki. I always gravitate to your live versions. Beautiful vocal. I don't understand the lyrics but I think by being an instrumentalists I feel the tones and textures in the vocal. As always the band and arrangement was just awesome. Well done

Terrific - particularly since it's a ripped apart stereo remix. I do think the high hat is a bit too loud in the verses though. WONDERFUL melody and the counter on the strings is AS GOOD.
