Hi There,
BIAB doesn't let me enter this chord either directly or via the Chord Builder. Is this chord type supported? Is there another way of expressing it?
Any assistance appreciated!

Leave off the 4; just call it Asus.

Aubrey, take a look at the chord builder. Right-click on the chordsheet and select Chord Builder. You will see the supported chords. Be sure to look at the "Other" dropdown.

Yes, but it shouldn't work that way.
I've mentioned this before . . .
There are two types of suspended chords ... a sus2 and a sus4.
By only accepting "Asus" BiaB is assuming there is only one type of suspended chord.
If one types in "Asus2," BiaB enters A2, which is a different chord!
A2 is an A triad with the second (B) added.
Asus2 is the second replacing the third (C or C#).
A big difference and a big failing in my opinion on BiaB's part.
Unless there is some way to get around this that I'm not aware of.

Hi, FirstBassman - I don't disagree with your assessment, but was merely pointing out how it works in BIAB. However, most music I have seen will use Asus to indicate Asus4, so that construct is valid. Asus2 would then have the 2 explicitly there. I believe there should be an Asus2, as well as Asus4, and I wish A(add9) was implemented as A(add9), not A2. However, in answer to the OP's question, my answer stands. We could resume the discussion on Adim, as well... No, that one's been beaten to death. Maybe one day we'll see it. Keep hammering on the wishlist.

Before there is any more discussion of what chord types are in BIAB, everyone should re-read the file, PGSHORTC.TXT in the \BB folder. There is a difference between what chords are supported and what happens when a chord is typed. Plus, since chord type substitutions can be customized in SHORTCUT.TXT, it is not always certain what will happen on an individual user's PC if it has been customized.
The OP said Asus4 can't be entered. It can, but BIAB translates it to the supported Asus.
