Hi Hans, welcome back! It is so good to hear from you, and more importantly, I hope you are feeling much better now. Health always comes first. I just listened to the new song and watched the video, and I am honestly blown away. The music is absolutely beautiful, and the lyrical concept behind the three wishes is incredibly thought-provoking. That final "or..." twist really makes the listener stop and think. As for the music video, you should be incredibly proud of yourself. DaVinci Resolve has a massive learning curve, and mastering the Ken Burns technique for the first time is no small feat. The subtle panning and zooming create a beautiful, cinematic flow that complements the emotional depth of the track perfectly. For your very first attempt, the execution is fantastic—do not underestimate your work! It is wonderful to have you back making music. Keep up the amazing work! Andi ;-) Hi Andi! It’s so nice to hear from you again. It’s been a long time! Yes, health problems can be very annoying sometimes, but as long as you can overcome them, you’re a lucky person. It’s funny how I came across that Kent Burns technique. Chat GTP told me about it! I needed some photos with the same type of character. I could 'bring some to life' in another program called Pollo. And Chat wanted to make a storybook for me so I could make a video within 3 months. But I didn't want to take 3 months, 3 weeks at most! Then Chat wanted me to open her eyes after the first wish. I said 'no', we only move a finger at the end. That is hope. Chat became lyrical with enthusiasm about that. I’ve never experienced that with this program. But apparently, they can give him a 'personality' so you can talk to him almost like a human. Did you know he could 'listen' to my song and 'watch' the video? And give good commentary too! Well, it's way too long a story to actually tell you that I'm happy with your compliments! Greetings to Wolle! Hans

Nice to have you back, Hans. I hope your health issues are (more or less) resolved. A beautiful yet sad song about the inner conflict you face when you have three wishes. Help the beloved ones? Help the ones who need it even more? Or, what I would do, wish for many more wishes so I could help even more people? The song and the chord progression supports your lyrics well. Good choice of instruments, good mix, and effective use of stops and dynamics. A very good song ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/images/icons/default/thumbs_up.gif)

Hi Rob, I hope things are okay now for either you or your loved one, there was some uncertainty about that in your post. As you said, health comes first. Song was good and demonstrated just how much we can care for those close to us. I couldn't learn Resolve, it was too hard for me. I use Vegas, which is made by the same company that makes my DAW. So a lot of concepts transfer over, and that makes it easy for me. Nice job on the vid and the song, so good to hear you in the swing of things again. Keep up the good work! Thank you for your kind words! And yes, I sometimes have health problems, but I want to let them play as little a role as possible in what I enjoy doing most: making music and giving fantasy (and humor too) a strong role in the lyrics, music, and visuals. In fact, you can see that reflected in this song. My son said, "Well, I would have chosen that bag of money and that yacht instead of making three wishes for someone you aren't sure of they would actually help." What would you choose? About learninbg that DaVinci Resolve... You don't wanna hear the words I used when something failed again... Hans

Hi Izzy, Hey Hans, Welcome back! First off, I'm genuinely glad to hear you're on the mend—health truly is precious, even if it occasionally interferes with songwriting.
Let’s talk about "Three Wishes." If I’ve decoded your moral dilemma correctly, The planet’s a bit of a fixer-upper right now, but the brave new world is just going to have to wait. Why? Because you bravely, noble-heartedly, and completely unselfishly transferred all three of your magical get-out-of-jail-free wishes to a loved one whose delicate health is on the line.
That is top-tier boyfriend/friend material right there. Though I do have to ask: who on earth was that mysterious disappearing person with the bag of money and the yacht? Because if they were one of the wishes, I feel like you might have missed an opportunity for yourself! You’ve definitely left us on a cliffhanger as to whether the magic actually pans out.
That said, the song skips along at a rather chirpy 110 BPM, so I am officially choosing radical optimism. Surely, with a tempo that upbeat, the lovely lady is going to make a full recovery thanks to your holy trinity of benevolent wishes. With that rich Band-in-a-Box indie-folk-worship groove rolling along, how could the universe say no?
Lyrically, can we just take a moment to appreciate the line, "I wish that when you open your eyes, you see me seeing you." Beautiful stuff, Hans.
As for your maiden voyage into the terrifying waters of DaVinci Resolve using the "Ken Burns" technique—bravo! It’s a very clever visual trick. I loved how you’d cut away to the lady lying on her sickbed during the relevant lyrics, only to ruthlessly snap back to the opening city landscape like it was holding the entire space-time continuum together while the wishes were being cashed in.
Overall, this scores exceptionally high on every level: production, story, and vocals (and props to you for keeping it 100% human-voiced, effects aside). Consider this my formal petition for a sequel, Hans. We need to know if the yacht happened, and more importantly, if she got better! Brilliant work,
Izzy Hi Izzy, Naturally, you’ve written another fantastic, complimentary response to me! I’m always very happy with it. It seems like you can just write these compliments off the cuff, while we all know, of course, how long you toil over such a lyrical story. Not for the compliments themselves, because those are already in your head when you hear and see such a fantastic song, but you still have to find the right words to go with them, right? By the way, one correction; there wasn't a mysterious guy with money and a yacht involved at all. That was my dilemma; should I spend the 2nd wish on that woman as well, or should I choose for myself; a ton of cash, a nice boat, and get out of here! And naturally, I chose that woman's health again. My son didn't think that was the right choice either. I still have a moral conversation to have with him... But thank you so much for your beautiful, wise words. I will enjoy them for a long time to come! Hans

It's a beautiful love song (it seems to me), and the visuals are very beautiful. Yes, health comes first. Laurent

Hallo Arri,
Hello Arri, I hope the heat hasn't driven you away from your vacation spot. Although, you wrote about a rainy day *and* that such a day was perfect for listening to my songs. In that case, I am having a disastrous summer now, because it hasn't rained a drop for quite some time!
But what a compliment I am getting from you... "somehow my song reminded you of the Rolling Stones"! From their best years, too. I actually played and sang the song Wild Horses myself. That was at a gig in a big tent for I don't know how many civil servants... But I followed it up quickly with a song by the BeeGees (I Started a Joke). That's when the tears really started flowing ;-)

Hi Marty! Excellent, Hans. The way you develop your songs is worthy of being taught in college courses. I've already told you how much i like this one, AND the one you're making now is really over-the-top good. Can't wait to see it here. AND can't wait for the video youmake for it. But i'm getting ahead of myself --or ahead of you.
Love the video for this one. i have to make my own Ken Burns effect and it's a PITA. Nice to have Davinci help. Looks great. Now i'm listening on Soundcloud where i say the music sounds better. Thanks a lot, Marty. You know, I always come to you to let you here a new idea for a song. Mostly you then write "I can't wait to hear the new version(s) of this song, because I'm sure you alter a lot again". And yes, that's exactly what I did. This song was - in a way- a pain in the *ss. Sometimes I thought it was very good, but a day later I thought someting wasn't good enough, the song, the instruments, the lyrics, name it. But yes, this one was the one! That video was also not easy to do. Many times I asked myself 'why' doing all this for only 4 minutes. Haven't got the answer yet... Till next songs, Marty!
