Has anyone used the Garritan software for Jazz and Big Band? If so, how did you like it?

Personnally I was disappointed. I guess it comes down to expectations. I thought I could put any existing midi track up against it and it would sound like the demo's. Not the case. Many (most) of the midi files I come across (the free ones) are very simplistic in there "programming". As a result they do not take advantage of the options afforded by Garritan JABB. Apparently all those articulations and nueances which are the true insturment sound tone and quality have to be there in the midi to begin with. Only then will JABB play them.

So I heard little sound improvement for the amount of work it took to use them. Keep in mind they are not GM compatible will not really work with BIAB. I guess they could now with RB, but when that came out I had moved on. Perhaps I will revisit some day.

Now if you are actually playing a midi instrument and not just playing back midi files, as my case, well thats may be a different story.
