Hi all,
I just want to pop in and introduce myself.
I am a retired senior learning the guitar.
I just purchased BIAB and I am looking forward to learning how to use it.
Hopefully, I will improve my guitar playing as well

Northcoast is Upstate NY on the shores of Lake Ontario.

I just purchased the latest version 2010.5 Megapak.
Guitar Center had a great sale...

I run Win7 home Premium AMD AthlonX2 Dual Core, 4 gb memory 2 lg hd.

My music preference is jazz, blues although I like a little of all types of music.

I played drums all my life and I only started playing guitar a couple of years ago.

I hope I learn to play it before I die...lol

Ok then. Several guys from here in your 'neck' of the woods.

Check out your version, you might have a folksong folder in your C:\bb folder, with subfolders. If you are looking for band in a box files to play along with ...you can find help here.

Depending on your level of expertise you might want to pick up a fakebook and or fakebook and band in a box files combo in something simple like (hides) country. Google "Notes Norton Band in a Box" his website explains what he does/how and why. For a beginner country has lots of 3 or 4 chord songs and band in a box lets you change keys easily. Jazz is tougher, and what I do. I only know a few country songs from the 50's and 60's really. But I'm a piano player who's had to go 'with the band' before eh?

Welcome and it's good to see a senior willing to learn an instrument at such a late age.

Welcome, northcoast.

I'm from the Adirondacks, but now I live in an area of New York State that up-staters claim is downstate, and down-staters claim is upstate. Or maybe they all claim it's in Connecticut.

Welcome! You'll have a lot of fun.

I also started playing very late in life.
And I kick myself every day for not having started when I was a kid and loved the Dave Clark Five, and the Stones and The Kinks.
