Just install it and use it while your lappie is in the hospital.
I don't think pgmusic are the kind of people who'd hunt you down over something like that (GRIN).
Also remember that you could install PT to an outrigger hard drive and run it from there on any USB capable machine. That's one installation. PGMusic now ships programs like that. Don't forget to install the fonts and DX effects onto the new machine, though.
But if you install on the spare machine, I don't think you would be incurring the wrath of PGMusic considering your circumstances.
