I probably won't be around tomorrow, so just an advanced Happy Thanksgiving to all of my American friends, and warm wishes for a wonderful day full of things to be thankful for to everyone else.
Gary
I'm blessed watching God do what He does best. I've had a few rough years, and I'm still not back to where I want to be, but I'm on the way and things are looking far better now than what they were!

And for those who want a Canadian flavour to their Thanksgiving, make the pumpkin pie with less cream and sugar, and add nutmeg, cinnamon, and allspice. Savory, not sweet. Goes well with the moose meat stuffing and seal flipper soup. It's -5 tonight (C) or 26F and I'm thinking about getting out a sweater. When it hits -20 we put on a jacket for fall.
What do you mean 'hat'. It's a touque, and you wear it for fun. BTW, the plug hanging out of the front of our cars is so you plug the heater in that warms the oil so it doesn't go solid in the cold.
PG Music does not have that stuff for they are next to Hawaii and it's always warm and toasty there, all year round. But it does rain except for 4 days a year, at random.
LOL. It was so cold this morning that the case of pop on the deck froze and I had to bring it indoors. Now outside can be used as a deep freeze. (BTW I read 'mericans spell pop as soda. Here soda is something you put in your cheap scotch, goes with mud in yer eye.
Anyway, hope yer turkey is done, and the stuffing has some nice bear meat in it. Rye bread and bear meat sausage stuffing is way up there with Moose tongue and fiddleheads.

Pop, soda, in some areas of the oountry they use both terms, "soda-pop" -- and in some areas of New England, it may still be called, "tonic"...
Canned Evaporated Milk is the choice for the pumpkin pie in my neck of the woods. Sweet, not Savory. A Savory pumplin pie sounds interesting, though. But ALL food always sounds interesting to me (grin).
Turkey and all the trimmings, of course, but the past few years I've been insisting on some Oysters Rockefeller along with the traditional fare. burp
Whatever you do and wherever you do it, ENJOY.
And don't forget to Give THANKS...

Seemed to parallel the new National Day of griping about groping. Our gu'vnmt promised yesterday there are no plans to grope our parts at the ports. But that's the government. They said no way were they giving the yanks the data about who was on our planes if we flew over the US, ie a corner of NE on the way to France. Now they are going to do it. So if I go to Cuba the Tea Party knows. I say we should demand the same. All 20 of us against 2000 of them per hour. Wow.
Anyway, I still remember my turkey and the Next one is only 3 and a bit weeks away, so I'm not tired of it yet!

Happy Thanksgiving back at all of you!
At my home it goes like this:
Deep Fried Turkey and a Honey Backed as back up, Shrimp and Crab-meat Gumbo, Shrimp Stuffed Bell Peppers (as big as your head Mac!) Mashed Potatoes and you can't have Gumbo without potato salad. Some Oyster stuffed pastry, we call Oyster Patties and of course cranberry sauce for the wife, shes the only one who eats it at this gathering plus some french fries for the grandson, he can go without them, I think he mainlines them in dark alleys when he needs the fix!
Happy THanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all. I think I'll have a "pop" before the crowd starts arriving. You can take the boy out of Michigan, but you can't get Michigan out of the boy.

Had an absolutely wonderful Thanksgiving, actually. Traveled to Maryland from Seattle (getting to the airport at Seattle was an experience, snow, ubercold, and wind gusts to 50mph, and frozen streets). Had almost all of our family there, my side and my step mother's side, almost 40 people for Thanksgiving, and then over 50 people for my Dad's b'day party on Saturday. Good time was had by all.

Gary, Did you go for the strip show or the fondle? They say the fondle is not invasive so what if a male asked to be searched by a female? I bet they would deny it don't you? Would this be admitting that the fondle is indeed invasive and sexual in nature?

John, As I said in my guns forum, each way there was no additional screening. Metal detector only. In Seattle, I didn't take off my watch or my belt, but did take off my shoes. No problems. In Baltimore, I guess the machines were tuned a little more sensitive, since I again was wearing my watch and my belt, and had to take both off.
In neither case did I have to have an ATI scan, or an enhanced pat down. In fact, I didn't see ANYONE at either airport who had to have that, or required it.

Don,
I have to admit that out here in CO, when I say 'pop' it does seem a little strange in a land of 'soda'-sayers!
