I am having a strange problem with BIAB
I have a few songs that I play one after the other like in a set, normally I mute the Melody and I play along with my guitar... when I want to play the next song, I just double-click on another file in my folder and the next song comes up on BIAB, etc... This way, I can play all the songs (say 10 of them in a set) one after the other with no problem. [The songs usually have Realdrums on the Drum Track, and one or two RealTracks, say for Piano and Soloist tracks, etc...)
There are a couple of songs that if I start with that song, I get a dialogue box that pops up and asks me if
"OK to Change Melody to Straight Feel?"
No matter what I choose (i.e. YES, NO, CANCEL) BIAB drops the RealTracks and just plays the MIDI versions... (i.e. the Green lettering on the track names turns to yellow too.)
Now it's interesting that if the same song is played after another song (without closing the BIAB) everything works fine....
A bit unreleated (but as annoying), once in a while, when I double-click on the next song on my list of songs in the folder, a SECOND BIAB session opens up... Although both BIAB applications are still operatonal (i.e. not crashed, or not Not-Responding), I am forced to MUTE the melody part AGAIN, and also turn to the Notes page so I can follow the Tabs/notes for the melody track I play with my guitar...
Any Ideas how to solve this?

Hi Tchairdjian,
For the second problem, it sounds like you might have "Allow multiple instances of BIAB" activated. To check this, go to Opt >> Preferences and the option to activate it is on the bottom right-hand side of the pop-up window.

Try a Return to Factory Settings first.
I've only seen the Change Feel dialog when changing a style in an already opened BIAB song. If the style has a swing feel and I try changing it to Bossa, that message will pop up.
It sounds like you are opening a song by using Windows Explorer instead of BIAB. A new feature of 2010 is the ability to have multiple copies of BIAB opened. This may have something to do with it. Try using the SongPicker from BIAB and see if the problem goes away.

Hi Noel... I just check, but that option is NOT allowed ie. no check mark in the box...!!#!

Thanks Rachel, I'll try that. But I should also say that often, I can double click another song, then go back to that problem song... and the song will play fine.... And yes, I am openning the song using the Windows Explorer (i.e. I have a folder open witht list of the files... and I double click on the file)

I believe the dropped RTs is related to the message you are getting. I've had Frozen assigned RTs dropped when the style changed. I never confirmed that this was the cause but was the only thing I could figure out. Since the message indicates a style change, it sounds like the culprit. Why it is happening I can't say. If it is occurring on the same songs, it could be a corrupted song file.

Thanks Rachel... Good news: So far I tried to open the song directly from inside BIAB and I didn't get the message...
Also, I am not sure the file is corrupted as it works most of the time... except if it was the first file openned from the Windows Explorer...
I'll keep opening files only from BIAB from mow on and see if it continues to work fine. Thanks.

Yup.
I have a previous version of BiaB still on my C: drive and am running 2010.5 from the external drive.
I had problems double-clicking songs in Explorer.
So now I always open them within the app and play them from there.
Or save them as mp3 files.

Thanks FirstBassman. I've been playing all afternoon, as suggested openning the files within the app... and no problems. So looks like this is the way to go to be safe.
BTW, Saving them as mp3 won't work for me because I need to read the tabs as I play, and also because I use Ketron SD2 for the remaining MIDI tracks... to save in mp3 is a bit of a workout... I would need to go to RB, record the audio from the tracks coming from SD2... etc... etc... Anyway, it's a working now! LOL

Back in Jump School, the guys who handed out the chutes would tell us that they came with a full guarantee -- if your chute didn't work right, just bring it back for a free, no questions asked replacement chute...

On the external drive there are two locations for BiaB executable.
One in root folder and one in BB folder.
Maybe try changing which one is pointed to in WinExplorer. (?)
Worth a shot.

Thanks rharv, but I don't use the external hard drive, I've loaded the whole thing onto my C: Drive... I'll check to see if the same thing is happening there too...
MAC, you got the words right out of my mouth... I almost wrote the same thing but then I thought, "Oh well, can't always be joking..." LOL. My version promised a full refund!
