joan, the only way to really tell if hooking them to the hub would be problematic is to get them and give that a try.
My laptop has three USB ports and I have found that my Altec Lansings power fine from one of the "front" ports, leaving the one in the rear next to the power jack to be used with my BiaB/RB USB drive. All works fine like that. But each laptop design handles USB power differently, so we have to try it out to see.
A powered USB hub, one which has a separate connection to AC power, should certainly handle everything.
Wait until they get to your door, then find out about hookup.
