I'm extremely new to BIAB and am waiting for the DVD and manual to arrive. I've been playing around with it and created a wav file. I wasn't given an option, as far as I know, to save the file where I wanted it, the program told me where it would be located and what the name would be.
I found it at the end of a very long list of files in the bb directory. I've looked under Preferences and Options to see if I could set or create my default preference location where I can save work to.
I'm sure this is very easy to find and this is my inexperience at work. Could you point me to the correct location so to speak? Thanks, Dave Horne

I think I found the solution ... pressing SHIFT while clicking on the Save As icon.

Unless otherwise instructed the program saves the wav file where the original bb file is.
Many of us make a work folder (mines on the desktop). Load the song, and save the Band in a Box file there, not the .wav yet.
Muck with your work and when you save it it will be the only wav file there. You right click and rename it.
Many here then take the file to Realband, or they take the tracks to Realband.
Others like me just load the wav file into Audacity (free download) and I use that to fade in, fade out, punch up etc. I then use Audicity to convert the file to an Mp3.

If you are talking about using the Audio menu and doing a "Render MIDI to Stereo WAV file", in the upper right of the window that opens, there is a "Choose" button. The default location and file name are shown in the upper left corner of the Render window.
