I'm still quite new to this and have taken the owner's manual to bed with me.
I've created a few files to play with and wondering if it's possible to have chords on more beats than just 1 and 3 (when in 4/4). Where do I need to look for this? Thanks, DH

Just separate them by commas inside the box. (I think)
A,Gm C,Dm

rharv, thanks! That was easy enough. Since the chord box advances two beats at a time the thought never occurred to me to enter in two beat's worth of chords in one box.

Just as a note, if you don't want an explicit change on a beat, you can enter something like:
A, Gm | ,Dm
In this case, there will be no chord "change" on beat 3.

And, if you are in 3/4, ignore the second position in the second box.
Dm, G7 | C, F
In 3/4, the F never gets played, and you would hear Dm, G7 and C on beats 1, 2 and 3 respectively.

Now that last one, by Matt, seems a little confusing to say the least.
How do bar numbers keep accurate? Is there one number for two boxes?
Guess I'll have to go experimenting..

Yes, it can be.
Each measure consists of two cells, no matter what the time signature (4/4 or 3/4). The numbers are associated with the measure, not with the cell.
You can put up to 2 beats in a cell. So in 4/4 time, one measure might look like this:
[ C | ]
That is, a single measure with one chord change in it, falling on the first beat.
If you put a chord in the second cell, it might look like this:
[ C | F ]
Now you've got two chords, the C on the first beat, and the F on the third beat. If you want to have a chord change on beat 2 or 4, you need to use a comma in the cell to separate the chords:
[ C | F, Gm ]
Now there's a Gm on beat 4. As noted, data entry looks the same in 4/4 time and 3/4 time. In 3/4 time, it doesn't make any sense to enter a chord change on beat 4, because there's no beat 4. But BiaB will still allow you to do it.

Just to stick my foot in deeper about 3/4:
If you put a chord on the first beat of the first cell, and another chord on the first beat of the second cell, you might expect BIAB to play these evenly as two dotted quarters in 3/4. Instead, what you will hear is a half note duration for the first chord, then a quarter note duration for the chord on beat three.
For something syncopated in 3/4, where you really do want two chords each the length of a dotted quarter, put an eighth note push on the chord in the second cell.

Thanks, Matt! But I should disabuse you of my "newbie" status. Although I haven't been playing with a recent version until this summer, I used to use it back on my 386 - when a 386 was considered fast.
Plus, I'm a computer programmer. So it just makes sense that it works that way, right?
