I have band in a box 2008.5 and am going to up grade to 2011 in the next week. But I put in an 8 bar intro and the bass does not change with the chords. The rest of the song does. I do C&W and am doing the waltz Four in The morning with an 8 bar turn around intro?? The ending tag is the same as the intro and it works? I have tried several things and did not get to call support before the shut down today. Any ideas. Rennie

Seeing as you are new here I won't suggest pulling out your handgun and shooting the bass player betwixt the eyes.
Intros always work for me, including the chord changes.
Does it work on other intros?
Have you saved the song, shut down and reloaded it?
There is a 'return to factory settings' option in Opts Prefs.

Hi Rennie,
If you used the automatic Intro feature, it may have invoked Pedal Bass during the Intro, if it did you should see "slash" chords there, such as C/G or the like. Removing the slash and the letter following it should force the Bass to play the chord roots, etc. after you hit Play to regenerate the song structure.
If it is not that, you would do better to give us a step-by-step as to what you did and what you have after doing it.

If this is a previous midi file there can be information buried in it. Just a thought.
The 'other' thing we use on here to figure stuff out like that is to have it posted somewhere we can grab it and play. Or worst to worst, a band in a box file should be wee, you can email it for 'dissection'.

You also said, "the bass does not change with the chords..."
Are those slashes you put here visible on the BB Chord Grid?
If so, then you have invoked the Pedal Bass such that the bass is playing other than the root note of the chord is one possibility here.
Try RightClicking on the first bar, first cell - and select Chord Options where the little window has four radio buttuns up top and a small slot below where you can see each chord. You can also modify chords there, ie remove any slash notes, etc. (also possible to do from Chord Grid, but maybe more explanatory as to what is going on to use this window).

I closed the file, opened a new one and put the chord progression in by hand and everything worked. I then saved the song save as and it worked just fine. Thanks for all the help guys.

Are you asking if it's possible for you to enter your own chords for the Intro?
The answer is: yes.
The "Intro" command is just a quick handy way to create the (non-repeatable) measures for the Intro and an opportunity for BiaB to automatically enter "jazzy-type" versions of chords.
But you can enter any chords you want, in any way you want. And you can enlarge the Intro to 16 bars (or more) if you want.
