A Spot on the Wall A quirky lyric about figuring things out. A spot on the wall. A relationship. A life. Took me two months to warm up to these lyrics but I like them a lot by now. The notion of running hard, but not necessarily in the right direction, is so...me. Every instrument you hear is from the 2026 RealStyle _DESCEND.STY. The pair of modern fingerstyle guitars sound great split like this. The first part of the song features the pair. The bridge features the rhythm guitar. The rest has all three guitars at the same time. Panning listed below. The 4820 guitar produced harsh artifacts that Melodyne could not isolate, so the BiaB stem took maybe 30 partial regenerations to MOSTLY clean that up. I'll send the support folks at PGMusic a report with a frozen track. Struggled with the bridge. I like it enough now, but it might have just beaten me down. So if you have thoughts on whether this works or not, I'd be interested. THANK YOU in advance for any listens and comments. R.W. Davis: lyrics Me: music, arrangement, vocals, mix, master AI: not employed Style is _DESCEND.STY (Descend Gentle Folk Rock) RealTracks in style: 5067:Bass, Acoustic, Folk16ths ev16 60 (+EQ) RealTracks in style: 4987:Guitar, 6stringBass, Fingerpicking ModernFolkSlowChorus ev16 60 (panned left) RealTracks in style: 4986:Guitar, Acoustic, Rhythm ModernFolkSlowGentleStrum ev16 60 (panned slightly left, reverb panned right) RealTracks in style: 4820:Guitar, Electric, Fingerpicking Slow16thsMuted ev16 065 (panned right) RealDrums in style:ShakerSlow16ths: a: Shaker b: ShakerSlow16ths (+Studio One 7 drum channel EQ & multi-band compressor) A Spot on the Wall There’s a spot on the wall It catches my eye I don’t know what it is And I don’t know why Could it be a spider? A fly from outside? A lone spot on the wall With no place to hide I’m running on my treadmill Like I’m running a big race I could be running to you in Dallas But I just keep running in place And the walls are like my skyline And the fan is like my breeze I’m struggling toward the finish line Until you come back to me There’s a spot on the wall It don’t even move Like art nouveau painting In the French Louvre Like a black hole in space A hole in the wall Maybe an eye floater Too big or too small I’m running on my treadmill Like I’m running a big race I could be running to you in Dallas But I just keep running in place And the walls are like my skyline And the fan is like my breeze I’m struggling toward the finish line Until you come back to me I think I’m getting shin splints With all the suspense My environment’s getting too artificial But my exercise is so beneficial With an initial case of the cramps Running under the lamps There’s a spot on the wall It catches my eye I don’t know what it is And I don’t know why I’m running on my treadmill Like I’m running a big race I could be running to you in Dallas But I just keep running in place And the walls are like my skyline And the fan is like my breeze I’m struggling toward the finish line Until you come back to me

Jim, I don't know why Maria would say that, but I agree 100%, does that surprize you? I don’t know why Maria would say such a thing either. But I think Mario might say the following: (Ducking and running for cover) 😊 Is it possible to dig a ditch with a spoon? Yes Is it possible to hammer a nail with a rock? Yes Is it possible to grow without a teacher? Yes Is it possible to experiment with chord progressions using pencil and paper? Yes But if you want to dig well, hammer cleanly, grow deeply, and compose quickly, you choose the tools and supports that make the work faster, clearer, and more effective; especially when your time is a high priority. Now I need to shovel my driveway. Honey, where’s my spatula? 😊

I only use this laptop for BIAB so 1TB SSD should be enough? I have powered BOSE speakers that I feed from a mixer Tony Depends what version of BIAB. If recent Audiophile FLAC, go with 2tb. If Ultrapak - 1 tb should be fine. You want to have at least 20-30% of space left on HD. ------- Just make sure to research CPU. Your current is i7-5500. That 5500 number... It should be at least 2x higher for meaningful upgrade From my laptop experience, usually better CPU machines have newer chipsets as well.

OPs image shows Echo/Chorus I show presets for that also. Does your Realband - DX Settings folder contain a Factory_TSG folder? Do you have items in there? I *assume* that is where they reside, but could be wrong...

Janice has long loved this song and you made a warm and wonderful version. She said she could picture Fred Astaire dancing with Ginger. It sounds like it could've been in one of their movies. Your harp, as always, is a gem. You and the BiaB guys made for a fine band and the mix well supports it all. Enjoyed it, J&B

Hi Janice and Bud and Peter, Finally, I got to listen to your song! And what have I missed in the meantime? This beautiful song, a wonderful voice, and a beautiful/unique solo. First, the singing, although always beautiful, is perhaps even more beautiful now! Take that line: "A barn bell could be heard a mile off" and listen to how you sing it. Especially the last words; wow, beautiful craftsmanship (if you can say that)! And what Peter did with his guitar strings was pure magic. At the beginning, in between, and so on. Or maybe Bud created that magical sound with his magical mixing skills? No, seriously, I was immediately hooked the moment you started singing, Janice. And I also learned something: "They're hand-hewn beams." I didn't know what that meant, so Google told me it's something like Janice's craftsmanship, but for wood. Hans Hans, thank you for your time to listen and write such a thoughtful review. Your comments about the vocals, the guitar, the write and mix are all greatly appreciated. Oh, and we are glad google helped out with the hand hewn beams! J&B

Thanks Andrew. Specially, because you got my idea of bringing this jazzy classic from 1920s to modern time with a groove R&B backing and rock guitar solos at the end. I listened those many fabulous versions of great singers from Frank Sinatra to Adam Lambert and my favourite Diana Krall. Still I bravely sang my own with this weak voice of an old man, since AI vocals are missing the human rendition, connection to the message and feeling of the song. Thanks for understanding that as well.

Noel, I absolutely loved that. What a great song and production. Hey John! It's good to see you. Thanks for having a listen I really appreciate it. The production of a song always causes me a good deal of grief and it's heartening to read your comment. Thanks for that! --Noel

Hi BD. Once again, you have cleared the "this is brilliant" bar with plenty of room to spare. I absolutely LOVE what you've done. The arrangement, the production, the vocals are stunning. You had me completely mesmerised. What really appealed to me was that this sometimes sounded distinctly 3/4 and other times it sounded like a slow 6/8 (especially when the snare drum was on the first beat of alternating bars). I thoroughly enjoyed this audio/visual journey. --Noel

I had this catchy Motown/disco styled melody since 1993. I was in Denver when a lesbian colleague told me about how her lover treated her and she decided to leave. I thought it would make a good story line for a song but I struggled with the words. I didn't like what I came up with so last year Robert Quigley went through line by line and came up with a terrific set of lyrics. He just rattled them off! I had trouble trying to keep up with copying and pasting what he was typing on WhatsApp! Marilyn Simone, who studied at Berklee, did the vocals. https://www.johnwalradt.com/music/songs/imnotcomingback-master_2026feb.mp3 Style is _SCHLGR3.STY (Funky Schlager) RealTracks in style: 1434:Bass, Electric, JazzFunkPoppy Ev16 110 RealTracks in style: 1408:Piano, SynthLayer, Rhythm Soul70sHeld Ev16 100 RealTracks in style: 1400:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm Soul70sBrightSteady Ev16 100 RealTracks in style: 2406:Synth, Rhythm JazzFunkPad Ev 110 RealDrums in style:Disco^1-a:Snare, HiHat , b:16ths Style is _FNKDNC2.STY (Funk Dance w/ Octave Bass) RealTracks in style: 2271:Bass, Synth, DiscoOctaves Ev 120 RealTracks in style: 1941:Synth, Rhythm, EuroDance ChorusHousePiano Ev16 120 RealTracks in style: ~1435:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm JazzFunkGroovinChords Ev16 110 Loop in Song: House-Techno-Trance\Trance - kit3beat135b ev16 tempo.wav I'M NOT COMING BACK Words: Robert Quigley, Music: John Walradt I’m not coming back I’m not coming back to you I’m not coming back What did you think I’d do? Well, you sipped your latte And played your guitar Like a primadonna Or a wannabe star But you played me second And showed no regard That’s just another example Of what a jerk you are! I’m not coming back I’m not coming back to you I’m not coming back What did you think I’d do? So you think we’re even Go add up the score But I wont bring breakfast To your bed anymore ‘Cause I saw you kiss her In your silver car Well, I'm not surprised Because that's who you are! And I’m not coming back I’m not coming back to you I’m not coming back What did you think I’d do? Well, summer is coming And I’m doing great Tell me was she worth it ‘Cause you sure took the bait So go back to your basement And your little boy games 'Cause I moved along And forgotten your name. And I’m not coming back I’m not coming back to you You’re a canceled check Baby, you know you’re through. I’m not coming back I’m not coming back to you I’m not coming back Baby, I’m through with you.
