RealTracks Artist Bio: Johnny Hiland

Johnny Hiland is an American guitarist who has gained international recognition for his technical brilliance. Johnny, who is legally blind, started playing acoustic guitar at age 2 and played his first talent show at age 5. By the age of 10 he had won Talent America with his sister Jodi and his brother Jerry, "The 3 J's." At 12 Johnny started playing electric guitar, and in 1996 he moved to Nashville and worked as a session musician for country artists including Toby Keith, Ricky Skaggs, Janie Fricke, and Hank Williams III. Johnny has also performed on stage with amazing artists like Sammy Hagar, George Clinton and P-Funk, Les Paul, Steve Vai, Joe Bonamassa, G3, Ricky Skaggs, and many more. He has also performed on TNN's "Prime Time Country" as well as the legendary Grand Ole Opry.
