Can any one tell me why any BIAB song file I try to download from my computer ends up going to my Real Player ? What must I do to correct this problem so that I can send it to BIAB ?

Greg

Assuming the BIAB files are .SGU or .MGU, then you may need to associate those filetypes with BIAB. Go to File, File Utilities, Associate File Types etc.

The other possibility is that the files are .MP3 or something else, and are not BIAB filetypes at all.

Hi I went to File and then Utilities and file Types and set that but still having problems .The songs I am downloading are BIAB type files . There is an R Next to the file once I download it to my desk top which stand for real Player . I was downloading a lot of Regular music from my CD COLLECTION on to my computer for the last two days and using Real player to do that . Ever since then I been having problems downloading the Biab files on to my desk top with out seeing the Real Player emblem next to the file. Also I deleted out my internet explorer from my computer because It been running real slow so I downloaded Google Chrome to take it's place .So I'm not sure why the biab files have the R next to it when I download them .Any other suggestions ?

Thank you ,
Greg

You were told. What. To. Do.

Now, the problem is you were asked by RealPlayer to associate file types and you said, "YES".

Now you have to undo it.

Give yourself admin privileges.
Start Band in a Box.
Do what Matt said, again.
The icon view should now associate band in a box files with the software.

To be honest it's no big deal as long as band in a box know what the files are. Open it and try to load one.

I'm really thinking you have only a faint idea about this stuff right?

Don't open BiaB files by clicking them. Open BiaB first and open them from the file window. This will eliminate the issue all together.

When installing many of these free aftermarket players, one must pay attention to the settings, many of them are set to default to capturing everything media that it can. Or sometimes even cannot.

Try visiting the RealPlayer Control Panel, locate where it assigns File Types and uncheck BB file types.

I'm now able to take BIAB song files from web sites and download them to BIAB. (1) I clicked file in BIAB top left hand corner drop down menu appears
(2) I click on open and it now displays ( BB File open dialog )
(3) Here is where I got lost there is a yellow folder with a green arrow pointing up.As I click on that it moves up Different folders I was in the wrong folder .I moved it up to the download folder . Now I see clearly all the BIAB song files that I clicked on from a web site. Problem Solved Thank you all for the input.

Greg
