The crash I describe here happens about 50% of the times that I exit BIAB. I thought I could resolve it by upgrading to V2012, but that didn't fix it so I reverted. I have V2009.5, running under XP SP3 with plenty of memory. The crash happened after I used BIAB for an hour or so. I loaded songs, recorded and played back using my Yamaha P90. A few songs I loaded changed the key and saved them. That's all I did. When I exited, I got a windows dialog saying there was a problem and a report would be sent to the publisher. Sounds like you have not turned UAC to OFF in your operating system (Win7 or Vista).
Band in a Box *must* be able to write to critical file(s) in its folder when closing. It also must be able to read those files when opening. If anything on the computer is set to prevent the automatic writing to files, such as microsoft's dumb UAC, this error stuff will happen.
It is not a matter of which version of BiaB you have at all.

There are limited things that cause an error message at close.
The release of devices comes to mind.
The writing of the file that has certain settings is another.
Support are the ones best to deal with this.
I had this as an issue with Vista, until I got win7. I had a crash on exit if you call it that. It was just an annoyance and didn't hurt anything, but probably uac on some file or other.
I wonder if it's ASIO related or something similar.

That might be related to using the Roland VSC DXi as your output MIDI Driver.
If that is the case, switching to the Coyote GM WT WaveTable (or another driver) would fix the issue. Either that, or just ignoring the exception message, as its harmless.
(the issue is a weird one, related to a video driver conflict, and is sometimes fixed by updating video driver)

I remember now. If I had selected both VSC and VSC Dxi I had something like this.
But if I still used the Dxi in the check box, but got clicked on Wave Table which was not going to be used the error on exit went away. Peter jogged my memory, which is the only part of me that can jog. I can still jig though so, but I fall over such is that.

Thanks for the help. Yes, XP. No virus control. Not using Roland.
I guess I won't pursue this one, since it is a minor annoyance.
Today I got a more severe crash when trying to print. Perhaps I'll pursue that.
