A while ago I believe it was John Conley who posted a link to a youtube demo of a music app that plays on either an IPAD or a clone thereof. The app was somewhat like a theremin, but capable of multitones and a lot of nuance such as volume control. I have searched the archive but can't find the link. I also searched Youtube all morning and found hundreds of music apps, but not the same one that was posted here.
If anybody made a bookmark to that post or knows which app I'm talking about, please let me know.

I don't remember the thread but I have AirVox on my iPod Touch (and now on my new iPad :-) ). I don't remember if it has multiple sound sources but it is an interesting beast.
Also somewhat similar but guitar oriented is Ghost Guitar. Not theremin sounding but it uses hand-in-air movements for control.

t realize you could access the app store rwithout an Ipad (I don't hvae one) Based on your suggestion I looked and I can indeed access the app store. But, I didn't find the app I was looking for. (Might not be an IPad app..might beandroid or something else

I checked ouit a demo of Alchemy mobile on youtube, and that isn't the droid I'm looking for. (By "theremin-like" I meant that the sounds are very fluid, changing steadily in tone as your finger drags across the screen. I found several similar demos on Youtube, but not the one that was posted here.

I wasted the whole day yesterday searching the forum archives for words like "APP", "I-PAD", "I-POD", "ANDROID", "JOHN CONLEY" and a few other words that could have been part of the message. Nada. My son will have to find his own music apps.

Droid would kill the search if it must be included. You stated iPad in your post title.
BTW, alchemy mobile does change and morph in tone as you drag your finger across the screen - that's it's key feature. It does not change pitch - that is done via the keyboard.
