I've had my BIAB for a long while now and want to upgrade to the new 2012.5 version. I am NOT a computer whizz so forgive the basic question.
At the moment my BIAB2008 has a very few Real Drums and Real Instruments that have never really worked properly (probably me badly loading them in when I bought them ). When I install the new one does it over write (sic) the old 2008 and also put the Real Band, Real Drums, Real Instruments etc etc in the right places so that they work when I want to go and use them??!!

If you purchase one of the "FULL" paka that contain all the RealDrums and RealTracks, it will indeed have them all and if you choose to do an installation to c: or any other drive besides just using it on the USB drive, you should get all the RealTracks and RealDrums replaced during that installation. Note that this would not be like an upgrade where those files may be missing, BiaB doesn't work that way. Matter of fact, you could simply rename your bb folder with 2006 in it to somethint like, "bb2006" and then go ahead and install 2012.5 into a new "bb" folder, retaining the old program and keeping the new if you wish.
The only other "issues" you are going to find are all the features that you have been missing!

Hi. I thought I'd add that I just updated from 2006 to 2012.5 and it went fine just installing to the same c:\bb directory. I didn't lose anything (e.g. old songs), so I wouldn't expect any dramas. (I did have a weird problem where it reverted and I had to reinstall the program, but that wouldn't be expected.)

In all these years, I have always installed the latest edition of BiaB right overtop of the older edition in the same bb folder and have NEVER lost a single songfile or previously chosen setting.
