I am trying to enter notes in the notation window. I display 8 bars. I cant figure out how to move 4 bars back and forth - when I try, I always end up on bar 17, totally missing 8 - 15. There must be a way but I could not find it.

Npot sure exactly what you are after here, but perhaps it can be solved using the Delete Bars or Insert Bars commands.

Are you using the slider at the bottom of the widow?
Try using the little arrows at each end of the slider.

You can move the display only by the number of measures you're displaying. You have it set to show 8, so a click on the scrolling-arrows at the end of the scroll bar will move the display to the next 8 bars. I just set mine to 8 and was able as always to click neatly through, 8 bars at a time.
If you need to proceed in 4-bar jumps, change the display to 4 bars.
Megafilddle's suggestion is good. You may be skipping sections simply because the scrolling slider is weird and dumb. Dragging or clicking the slider moves the display in a way unpredictable to me -- sometimes not at all unless you drag it too far and vault into the next chorus. So just forget the slider except for long jumps.

Thank you people, you are terrific. It was the scrolling bar "weirdness" - the arrows work as you say.

Depending on settings part markers and other stuff forces new lines. I set that off, I just do not like it. Just me maybe, I prefer smooth in lots of stuff. Please fix the road or my hips.
