Hi Bob,
Welcome to the forums!
Endings are automatically added by BIAB. There is nothing more you need other than generate the song and have it play. If you look at the chord sheet, you'll see that the second last bar of a song has "End" written in red. This is to indicate that the last two bars are the ending bars.
If you want to write your own ending, thought, it's necessary to deactivate this automatic ending. To do that, right-click somewhere on the chord sheet, select "Song Settings" from the menu that pops up, and now deactivate the option called "Generate 2 bar ending for this song".
Hope this helps, Noel

Long Endings can be appended by using the TAG command, found under Song Settings.
Rightclick on a bar and select Song Settings to find it.
Unlike the Intros, it is not automatic in nature, you will then have to type in chords, etc.

Tips if using a Hold on the last chord:
1. make sure the last bar of the song is beyond where you want the sound to cut off (and this could be set in the Tag if using one, or Bar for End of Chorus if not using a Tag)
2. put a Rest at the very end (for example, C. ), after the fadeout, and this has to be a different chord than the held chord (any chord will do, so long as it is different)
3. consider unchecking the Loop box

All the above plus
I will usually make the final chord (in the next to last bar) to "hold all Instruments" ex "C.."
And set the tempo for that bar to 40 bpm. This will keep the instruments from being chopped off before they have a chance to fade away naturally.

That is a really good thing to know about setting the tempo to 40! My problem is I like some of the ending BB has but they chop them off. Is there any way to fix that?
Thanks!

Hi,
I am new here in this forum and it´s a great oportunity for me to ask directly to experienced users. Here is my first question:
I have a 32-bar AABA form and I want to end the tune on the first beat of the second last bar.
Here are the last 4 bars of the tune and I want to end the tune on the CMA7 chord. How can I do this?
| Dm7 | G13 | CMA7 A7(b9) | Dm7 G7alt. ||

Use the TAG Ending routine found in the Song Settings dialog. RightClick on a bar and choose Song Settings.
Then invoke a TAG ending that has only 31 bars in it, then copy the chords to the TAG ending area.

Hi Mac,
thanks for answering.
I could not get it yet. Let´s say I have a four bar song like
||: Dm7 | G13 | CMA7 | A7(b9) ||
and I just want to end the song in the 2nd loop on the third bar at CMA7.
1.) I change to Song Settings 2.) activate the "Tag exists?" buttom 3.) Tag jump after bar #? 4.) Tag begin at bar #? 5.) Tag ends after bar #? 6.) The buttom "Generate 2 bar ending for this song?" is NOT activated.
Can you please help me to put the right bar number to stop the sequencer at beat 1 of bar #3. Thank you.

Hi cudo, Pg Music have a tutorial at the below link that might be useful. It seems to solve tag ending problems for a number of people in the forums. http://www.pgmusic.com/tutorial_repeats.htmRegards, Noel

Hi Noel,
thanks for answering but your Link does not explain my concern.
Again, my simple request:
I have a four bar song: ||: Dm7 | G13 | CMA7 | A7(b9) :||
After repeating it I want to end this song at the third bar on CMA7 at beat one.
To me this seams to be very difficult to achive.

Cudo, Have a read through the section on 1st and 2nd endings found at the link that I've given above. What you are asking is that for the first time through, the four chords need to play. Then when it repeats after playing the G13 chord, you want the music to jump to the 2nd ending to play Cmaj7. The first ending will include Cmaj7 | A7b9 and the second ending will have only Cmaj7. The image below shows how your requirement would be notated in standard music notation. Hope this helps, Noel

Let's reconsider your original 32 bar song. Mac's method would work, though it might look a little strange to you on the screen. What you'd do is give the song one repeat, put the tag after bar one, have it begin at bar 33 and end after bar 62. Then copy bars 2 through 31 and paste starting at bar 33. Leave the ending generator disabled. With respect to screen space, that's almost equivalent to doing away with the repeat and tag and simply rolling the song out to 63 bars, repeating the first 31 in the second half. To consume less real estate, try: set the tag to jump after bar 28, to begin at bar 33 and end after bar 35. Copy/paste bars 29-31 into bar 33 et voila. Or if you want to do literally what you said, you could move the tag forward another 3 bars. Doodle with it and you'll quickly see how it works. Bonne chance. -Ron EDIT - oops, my post crossed Noel's. Yeah that's even easier

My reasoning for putting the entire last chorus into the TAG ending likely has to do with my way of using the file at playback.
Having that entire last chorus in the TAG may "use more real estate" but in my way of thinking, that's not a real problem. What I gain by putting the entire last chorus into the TAG is a way of easily knowing that we are on the last chorus when I'm playing along with BiaB. Hard to miss that jump.
Besides that, most songs, the first choruses will fit onscreen in entirety in the ChordGrid view, that TAG will thus be below it and having the whole screen suddenly change at the jump to the TAG is just another warning bell for me.

Hi Noel96,
thanks for your kind assistance. The idea with 1st and 2nd ending is fine and works. Unfortunatly my formulation of the question was not quite correct because I wanted to have the possibility to increase the amount of repetitions of the whole song and that is probably only possible using a tag. But one thing keeps really strange to me working with 1st and 2nd endings. When BiaB was repeating after the 1st ending from bar 1 on it was playing harmonically still A7(b9) for the first 2 bars and not as supposed the Dm7 G13. ???
Hi rkl122,
also to you thank you. I could not capture your first suggestion but the second one was really good for me. I will do it like this in the future.You said "set the tag to jump after bar 28, to begin at bar 33 and end after bar 35. Copy/paste bars 29-31 into bar 33 et voila." When I was doing it I set the tag after bar #30 and it did not work well. The only thing which I am still not satisfied is the last chord is very short. It should be of long duration but maybe later I will find a solution for this.
Hi Mac, again thank you to you. Your proposal putting the entire AABA form into the tag-ending is also worth considering for orientation reasons.
So my mistake was, to put the tag to short before the last bar.

I'm going to give this a try. So many BIAB endings seem to chop off the last note very unnaturally.
