When I load a song with a recommended a potential RealTracks substitution style in the new green notifier window, this window disappears so fast that it does not even show text to display. As a matter of fact, it just barely blinks.

Is the duration programmed in cpu cycles or in time seconds?

Hit the Prefs button, in the main Prefs dialog window that pops up, lower RH, are two number blocks where we can enter the number of milliSeconds both before a pop shows and also how long it will show.

For ex, I have mine set to 100mS in top box, and the full limit of 30000 in bottom box, which shows it long enough for me to read it and react to it if desired.

Experiment with a range that is good for you, of course.

I agree. Even though I received BiaB last Monday, I've been very busy finishing 10 Christmas songs and haven't had time to load/play with the program. Today after finally loading it and "puttsing" around to figure out everything, one of the first things that popped up was that little green window. I had to load the same demo three times in order to speed read and figure out what I had to do since it disappeared so quickly. If it's important enough to pop up, it should stay there longer, or stay until you click close.

Thanks Mac!

Although the program seems fairly simple (I'm of course kidding!), right now I have about an hour with the program and drinking from the usual fire hose. This forum and you/others are a definite asset.

Perhaps PG could make the Default settings a little longer, would be a good thing for people encountering the program for the first few times.

right clicking on the msg, yellow or green, seems to cause it to stay as long as you want it

" is a RealTracks style that is available to sub for this MIDI style, with better sounds. Press RealTracks button- Find Replacement.. to load it in, or to disable this message."

It is currently set for 15 seconds, which is a relatively long time. I've bumped it up to 20 seconds for next patch,.

Have Fun!

Thanks for the help, Mac. (I have been gone for two days.)

Strange thing: After opening the prefs window and closing it again said window opened seemingly according to the pre-set numbers 750/24000 (didn't use a stop watch smile ). Before it was still the speedy thing.

All I did was to open that window and to close it.

@PeterGannon: Looking at software from the outside it is sometimes difficult to determine what's happening under the hood.
For my desktop: Problem solved. I will install the software on my laptop and look at that feature to check the behaviour again. I will post the result.

After the installation on my laptop there was business as usual. So I believe that there was a minor something that made my biab desktop installation ignore the preferences setting.

If that persists, try Return to Factory Settings under the Options menu.

Many seem reluctant to try that, not understanding how it works and how to create a situation where they don't have to go back through and reset all those personal user settings when performing a Return to Factory Settings.

Here' what I do:

*While BiaB is still working fine in all respects, visit the Return to Factory Settings window, the first button, and take the time to read the prompts that follow, create a backup of your known working settings so that you can use that to Reset the program and solve problems without resorting to also resetting all your user settings to the default.
