Hi all, I'm quite new to Band-in-a-Box and still working out its many brilliances. I'm stuck on this though - I scan some sheet music in 6/8 time and save to MIDI (outside BiaB), and import the melody and Soloist lines from channels in that MIDI. Then I want to set a style to it and then input the chords, but I can't see how it can work. I've seen instructions on how to write 6/8 into BiaB to apply styles, but in this case the music is already written and I'm stuck with 6/8 bars. Is there a process I can follow that will work me around the impass?

I just tried it and it worked:
open BIAB
select Styles
select StyleWizard... (Auto-Create Style from MIDI file)
select Open -- and select the MIDI file of your choice
select Generate NEW Style
give that NEW Style a name of maximum 8 digits without spaces between some to the digits.
watch in awe how it's working.
make a new song and load that style and listen...
Have fun.
Maybe there is another more sophisticated way, but hey, this is the first one I did.

Thanks for that information, though my musical skill and experience with BiaB precludes me having any great hope in that process. But the question is, has anyone produced any MIDI files in 6/8 time that can be used for this purpose?

Just try the process, I was successful with it while writing what I did. It was the first time I did that.
