I'm using a macbook, BIAB 2009.5 build 8, and last night on a gig the real drum hits starting bleeding through to the bass channel. I have bass panned all the way to -63 and drums to 64. If I turn the drums all the way down by muting the right channel, all I get is bass (which is what I want) and EXPLOSIVE hits from the drums on the left channel. Just the crashes and snare hits though. When I just play the drum channel, I get drums just fine. WEIRDNESS!
Using Real drums fusion terry clark and midi bass.
You know what I mean? ~Benny

First check it out with a pair of headphones right at your audio output jack in an effort to see if the program itself is doing this or perhaps a connection between Mac and amplifier has become a mono summing connection...
**As the beloved Mac platform morphs more and more into looking -- and acting -- like an Intel/Windows-based machine, I am finding for the first time ever that rebooting the Macintosh is in order when things go bump in the dark. Used to be able to leave the Macs running 24/7 forever without problems, not so much anymore, things get corrupted, bits get lost, etc. and sometimes the Reboot puts all the bit ducks back in a row behind the mama duck.

Yeah, I tried it with the headphones. Same problem. I'll restate the problem in case anyone might be experiencing the same thing.
So, I've panned the drums to 64 and the bass to -63. When I mute the drum channel, I get bass only, HOWEVER, I also get these explosively loud drum hits as well. It's like the panning on real drums only affects the main kit and not the hits (or accents for you classical people). The hits still come through the other channel. I've tried reversing the panning too. Still no luck. I'm backing up right after I post, then I'm going to uninstall and reinstall. ~Benny

OK, so I uninstalled, then re-installed everything! Problem is still there. TRY THIS: make a new song in BIAB, set the drums to fusionobrosterryclarke. Put lots of shots in the chords... like this:
^C... ^F... ^A... ^G... etc. The chords don't really matter.
Anyways, pan the bass to 64, then drums to -63 and mute all the other channels. Play the tune and only play back the bass channel. I do this on my mac by going into system prefs, sounds, then putting the slider all the way to the right.
Doing this, I only get BASS coming through my right speaker (which is what I want).... unfortunately, I also get all the explosive hits from the drums too. RESULT: Bass and ONLY the explosive drum hits in the right speaker.
ALSO, NEW WEIRD THING... If I pan the bass all the way to 64 it actually mutes it! If I put it at 63, it comes back. I think I've got a real bug here in the software.
The bummer is that, I 've been separating the bass and drums left and right, then feeding it through a mixer, so I can control the volume levels of each when I'm gigging with my piano player (I play sax). The other night, on the gig, it starts doing this and I didn't know what to do, so I turned the drums way down and the bass way up, and oh man it was a nightmare on the gig! Blerg.

I have a feeling that the fact that RealDrums are recorded in Stereo tracks is at the bottom of your problem. Couple that with Equal Energy Panning and you may not be able to use the Pan controls to eliminate the drums like that.
Only answer I can come up with is that you should try setting Volumes carefully for each song and Save with Patches and Harmony such that they load that way on the gig. I'd put them into a different folder, labled appropriately and retain my original files as-is.

Try setting BIAB to Mono under the GM menu.
Maybe...

OK!OK!OK!, I've GOT IT! Totally by accident, I figured out that if you hit the extreme pan on the positive side (ie. 64), something weird happens. For some damn reason, it will NOT pan all the way to 64. Instead it will actually MUTE that channel and send it full blast over to the other stereo channel! SOLUTION: set the positive pan to 63 and NOT 64. Weird bug man.. but at least it's working now. Christ... I can sleep a little bit now.

Wait. No. In continuing this conversation with myself, I'd like to report that no, I didn't fix it! DARN! Turns out I turned off real drums "for this track only," and enabled MIDI drums. That *DID* fix it, but only using MIDI drums. Oh well. MIDI drums fit this tune just fine, so while I wait for an answer/fix, I'll just use that.
IS ANYONE OUT THERE ABLE TO REPRODUCE THIS PROBLEM?!

OK, I spotted what you are hearing. For shots and pushes, it looks like the drum panning is ignored and the shot happens in the middle. We'll fix that in a future build. So any songs with pushes eg. ^Fm7 or Fm7.. , you would hear some panning bleed of the drums.
Any song without pushes/shots wouldn't have any panning issues like that.
Have Fun! Peter Gannon PG Music Inc.

YES! Thank you for spotting that! Most of my tunes don't do that, but this particular tune I've got has lots of pushes and shots. I found out the hard way on a gig! YIKES! Thanks again and I'll look forward to the next release.
