Most honorable RB users:

Well, I have created a RB song file and have adjusted the volume of the melody track(midi sax) way down to use as a practice tool for a ladies group who will be performing this song.... but when I save it as a .wave, the Sax is very loud...apparently not adjusted at all. How can I retain my mix on rendering a .wav file? everything is there and acceptable except for the volume adjustment on the melody...doh! What have I overlooked? This is my first attempt...

TIA
Ken

Don't know what you may have overlooked, but try using the "Save +" or "Save with Patches and Harmony" menu command (same thing) to open the little window that allows you to check off the tracks on the left and various other things such as Vol on the right and make sure they are checked as well.

There are also various adjustments in the Prefs that may affect this, I'm thinking specifically of that one command that allows Style Vols to be used or not.

What DXi synth are you using to Render and what is your Operating System?

All I want to do is lower the volume of a midi sax track and make an audio track for these ladies to practice with...nothing I have done so far seems to work...when I save it to a wav file it is once again ... Loud... am i missing a step or lowering the volume of that track in the wrong screen?

True , but the original post mentions a melody track .. so he may be in BiaB.

If in RB, look at the track's Event list for a volume change written in at the beginning.
Hilight track, click 'E' (or F2) and check event list. If you see a control chamge message for 7 or 11 (expression or volume) delete it.

I am in RB... deleting the events worked for me... I was able to save to a .wav file and retain the volume change. Thank you! I am still confused as to the simple straight forward way to save to a .wav. I am reading up on it now in the user manual. I see several choices for ways to save it and I wonder what you do? Should I make a seq file first or ...? After you get your song the way you want it in RB, what are the steps to save as a .wav? I know this is very simple...I am just not seeing it.

Thanks for you patience,
Ken

If you want a wav file mixdown of everything use 'Audio - merge audio and Dxi tracks to stereo wave file' command
