If you are using Band-in-a-Box or RealBand with ASIO, please post your results here. We're looking to start a database of user experiences. There are a lot of different ASIO drivers, and audio interfaces out there, so we want to know which ones are causing problems (with which programs, OS's, and drivers).
Please list in the following format:
Program(s): e.g. Band-in-a-Box 2011, e.g. RealBand 2011 OS: e.g. Windows 7 ASIO Driver: e.g. ASIO4All, e.g. m-Audio FastTrack Audio Interface: e.g. built in soundcard on PC, e.g. m-Audio Fast Track, Results: e.g. Problems Encountered etc.
PLease stay on topic in this thread, it is just to summarize your results. It should be useful as a resource for users, and also for our support staff.
Here is a sample entry:
****************************************************************** Program(s): Band-in-a-Box 2011 and RealBand 2011 OS: Windows 7/64 bit ASIO Driver: ASIO4All Audio Interface: built in soundcard on PC Results: Works well. No problems encountered. Latency is less than 10ms. Cannot use more than one ASIO program at once (as expected with ASIO). *******************************************************************

Program(s): Band-in-a-Box 2011 and RealBand 2011 OS: Windows XP SP3 ASIO Driver: Echo ASIO driver, ASIO4All Audio Interface: Echo Indigo IO Cardbus Results: Works well. ASIO4All works fine. No problems encountered. Latency is less than 10ms. Cannot use more than one ASIO program at once (as expected with ASIO). However the echo ASIO driver doesn't work. No matter what settings I try it still gives an intermitent and distorted output. I'd love to see a fix from either PGMusic or echo, wherever the problem lies.

Programs: BIAB 2011,RealBand 2011, PTW 2011. OS: Windows 7 Home Edition ASIO Driver: Creative Audio Interface: Creative X-Fi Titanium Soundcard. Results: Works OK and can support more than one device at a time. I use Creative and VSampler together. ASIO Driver in this edition is superior to previous versions. My problem with the Soundcard is with the MME driver "What You Hear" which does not appear to record at 44.1k.

It worked fine until V. 2011. Had to switch to MME. No problems encountered with MME drivers in BIAB 2011. Can drive CPU to 80% with no problems with MME. ASIO starts sputtering and clicking at 40% -- ASIO works fine in RealBand. Latency is about 12ms. Cannot use more than one ASIO program at once (as expected with ASIO).

Programs: Band In A box OS: Windows XP sp3 Asio drivers Presonus Fire Studio Project3.5.5.10705 or MME Latency 46 ms with ASIO or 107 with MME VST: Cakewalk TTS
Performance: Very good and can run several other audio programs simultaneously including Sonar, runs Garritan JBB3 within BIAB. Rendering audio seems slower than expected. Drag and drop works fine.

If it's any help, after a huge effort to make the ASIO and asio for all thing work, I vowed to never tough the thing again. And that was with 2 version, as in XP and Vista.
I think I don't need to try again, everything is working perfectly, and I actually have NO need for ASIO, my gear goes to the mixer, and band in a box does too. I have no need to try and play my ketron with my keyboard, it's great on it's own.
And I'm having too much fun, it must be illegal.

Program(s): Band-in-a-Box 2011 and, infrequently, RealBand 2011 OS: W7x64 ASIO Driver: W7x64 Beta Driver 6.0.1.1246 Audio Interface: E-MU 161PCI Results: In BIAB - No apparent latency, perfect. In Real Band (I just tried this now and did a little tweaking, but don't use RB much) - Typical latency, about 200 ms. Fiddled, no joy. Selected ASIO Direct Monitor and got feedback zap.

Program(s): Band-in-a-Box 2011 and RealBand 2011 OS: Windows 7 Pro SP1 (Dell laptop) ASIO Driver: Echo ASIO driver, ASIO4All Audio Interface: Echo Indigo IO Cardbus Results: Neither driver works. I'd ALSO love to see a fix from either PGMusic or Echo, wherever the problem lies.
Program(s): Band-in-a-Box 2011 and RealBand 2011 OS: Windows 7 Pro SP1 (clone AMD desktop) ASIO Driver: M-Audio ASIO driver, ASIO4All Audio Interface: M-Audio Delta 2496 PCI card Results: Both ASIO drivers work fine.
On both my machines, I now use MME for BIAB (2011), and ASIO versions for Forte Ensemble, my VSTi input. In Forte, the ASIO drivers work well. Using this combination is very satisfying.

Program(s): Band-in-a-Box 2011 (build 318) OS: Windows XP Pro (SP3) ASIO Drivers: Delta v5.10.0.5069-------TonePort UX2 v4.2.4.4 Audio Interfaces: M-Audio Delta 66 PCI/Line 6 TonePort UX2 USB Results: Works rather well. No problems encountered. Latency is usually less than 10ms and sometimes as low as as 3ms. Cannot use more than one ASIO program at once (as expected with ASIO). In cases, where I am using BIAB 2011 in "DAW Plugin" mode I set it to use the Line UX 2 ASIO and my main DAW apps (REAPER & SONAR X1) use the Delta 66 in ASIO. This allows me to drag and drop directly from BIAB to my DAW's timeline.

Program: Band-in-a-Box 2011, Read Band 2011 OS: Windows 7 SP1 ASIO Driver: M-Audio USB ASIO Audio Interface: M-Audio Fast Track Pro Results: Occasional crash on BIAB or RB startup. ASIO driver not supported message. The rest of the time it works flawlessly with low latency. When I use BIAB DAW plugin, I change BIAB to MME with good results.
