Is there a kind of a Scrub function available to make it easier & find a precise point to set Bar 1?? I have a Scrub function for setting the Punch In & Punch Out on my recorder.. If there was I could Scrub to the begining of the first downbeat, & set Bar 1.. I find it a bit challenging especially in faster tunes.. Or would this be something for the Wish List?? Thanks in advance..

One can also use the first beat of the SECOND bar of music to find their first beatpoint. This is very useful because you have the first full bar of beats to start counting along with the tempo of the song and when you hit the key to establish first bar, it is easy enough to be right on time at that point, telling the Wizard that the First Bar is actually the real second bar.
Once you have established exactly where that Second Bar starts, it is usually fairly easy to view the graphic waveform of the sounds *before* that bar and find the actual starting point for the real First Bar -- and then hit the key at that point, telling the Wizard that its the First Bar. Done.

Great, thanks Mac.. It's just that I thought it would be easier if one could slow it down, & scrub into the first down beat..That way i could get it on precisely first time..

Scrub function means to me that you use a control wheel and jog back and forth at really slow speed, listening to find and cue up the exact start of a beat. BIAB does not support the use of control surfaces at this time except for the Frontier Design Tranzport, and that is limited to moving one measure at a time. I have not done any audio editing in BIAB; I use other software for that, so someone else may know if there is a way in BIAB.
BIAB 2026 Win Audiophile. Software: Fender Studio One 8, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Presonus Quantom HD8 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

Thanks Matt, I realize BIAB doesn't support a jog wheel as such, just thought maybe there was a slider function that would accomplish the same thing.. But you are right, the Scrub does exactly what you described. My Korg recorder has that function on a Jog wheel, but I think some computer based recorders have a scrub on sliders or jog wheel on the mouse, though I can't be sure as I don't have any computer based recording programs... I think you can also put the mouse pointer on the progress line & slowly slide it forward or backward & hear the sound as it's moved.... Would be nice, but again I like to dream...lol.

You could always add it to the Wishlist.

To set bar 1 precisely stop the song and right click on the wave form. Richard. Ooops - Mac said this already.

Try using the graphics already in place. I find it easy to find the first bar point.
First hit Play.
Be ready to watch the timeline cursor as it moves while the file starts playing back.
When the cursor crosses over the point where you want bar 1 to be, hit Stop.
Examine the frozen graphic events and you should be able to easily see where that first chord or chords plus drums starts -> Slide the cursor to exactly just in front of that first bar event graphic and hit the First Bar button, which will be highlighted after hitting it the first time and then hitting Play then Stop -- and the first bar should move to that position.
I like to then Play the entire file through, tapping my foot to the beat and hitting the F8 key at the first downbeat of each measure throughout as well, creating a Tempo Map such that when the file is exported to BiaB, the audio file will line up with the BiaB highlighting at playback. This will make it easier to find and correct any chords that the audio wizard may misname due to other notes at the time event that may not be a part of the actual backing track chords.

OK Mac got that part working, but when I send it BIAB & the Audio is on it plays OK. I don't want the audio to play, just the instruments,so I mute the audio, & got no sound, So I go to Styles & click on the Style that is highlighted, & the tempo speeds up almost double. The song is originally around 70 bpm. but plays back around 140 & up. This happens when I mute the audio & enable the Style..

Johnny, This is a bit of a guess but it sounds like ACW might have interpreted the song at 140 bpm. If this is the case, right-click on the tempo window when in ACW and then choose "Find Best Half Tempo". See the image below. (I have BIAB 2011.5.) Regards, Noel
