Hi Guido,

Well, that set of Chord Changes is as "old as the hills" and has recurred in quite a few songs. The Chord Changes can often talk to us of another song that shares the same changes but has a different Melody with them, as well as differing Genre and Feel.

Very likely for someone of our generation, those changes remind us of a song that was quite the hit back when we were younger, give the same basic changes a different feel (and another key) and you have this:

Blame It on the Bossa Nova

There's actually almost an entire compendium of popular songs that share those changes or very close to them, dating back to the very beginnings of the popular song recording.

I've got a feeling that the roots of those changes may just be coming from an old German folksong, as the roots of *many* other songs also do. But then there will be those who remember the same changes as an old French folksong, then along comes a Britisher who will swear up and down it is their's, my American compatriots, especially those who live down around the Cajun areas. will likely have found a way to lay claim to it as well, etc. *grin*

ALL music stands upon the shoulders of the musics that preceded it.
