Hi Todd,
Sounds like you are trying to use the older Lyrics entry line above the notation and not the newer Note-Based Lyrics, is that correct?
Knowing which one you are trying to use is important here, I think you'd do better using the Note Based Lyrics, but that requires having a Melody track that the Lyrcis can be tied to. More on this in the BiaB FAQ BTW.
If using the older lytrics, Spacebar may be able to place the next line where you want it, just add Spaces 'til you get there.
